so economics is enough reason foer barbaric behaviour?

actually i have read some stats somewhere that might even refute this argeument, will see what i can find

Economics has a little to do with it.

FACT is, life is not fair. EVERY single one of us gets by day to day, not knowing what tomorrow brings.

When you have some asshole who intentionally rapes/kill/tortures an innocent person in his path, the person committing the violence deserves NOTHING but a quick trip into nothingness or a meeting with his maker to judge him. I'm not talking about circumstantial evidence to determine guilt, I'm talking about catching the guy's dick in the dead woman type of thing. Some men are nothing but evil and have no remorse on their actions or what they have done to people. Those men don't deserve to live, period.

Please explain to me how putting a one dollar bullet to the back of someone's head is more expensive than keeping them alive. Hell, a decent funeral will run 8k tops.

Many that live deserve death. And some die that deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then be not too eager to deal out death in the name of justice, fearing for your own safety. Even the wise cannot see all ends.- Gandalf LOTR :thumbup:nod:

"You see, Doctor, God didn't kill that little girl. Fate didn't butcher her and destiny didn't feed her to those dogs. If God saw what any of us did that night he didn't seem to mind. From then on I knew... God doesn't make the world this way. We do."

"Men get arrested. Dogs get put down."

Last I checked cases like these happen all over the world.
Wrongful imprisonment isn't something new.

I would venture to say if you compared the number of people wrongfully imprisoned to those who are rightfully imprisoned, the numbers are miniscule. Sure, one is too many...but it's hardly the epidemic people make it out to be. I'm more concerned w/ the number of people who SHOULD be imprisoned who are walking free, LOL

One of them was sentenced to death.

I'm aware. My post was speaking on cases in general, not this particular case. And even then, he was not killed. Sentenced to death and put to death are 2 separate things. Just semantics, but if we're going to take everything people say SO literally, that's the gist of it. I don't want anybody put to death wrongfully...but I stand by my position that those cases are few and far between. And for anybody who missed it:

And I stand by my case that if even one person is wrongfully and needlesly put to death because someone wants revenge, it's still wrong.

few and far between.

Just out of curiosity how many would " few and far between " be to you? 5... 10.... 100... 1000 ... ???

Since this started .............. http://www.innocenceproject.org/ .... there's been quite a few people exonerated. Considering they haven't been up and running that many years I think it's safe to say that since the beginning of your judicial system there have been thousands wrongfully convicted and incarcerated. I would also tend to believe there has been hundreds of innocent people put to death.

I credit them for changing my stand on the death penalty.

LMFAO...this is exactly why I don't go into the debate area. Too many people want to nickel and dime every little thing you say. I don't sit around the house going "Oh, I bet 873 people have been wrongfully convicted in the history of man." You honestly don't think there's just as many guilty people that have walked on a technicality??? At the very least there are just as many walking free that should have been imprisoned when these wrongfully convicted people were jailed, right???

In the 19 years The Innocence Project has been up and running they have freed 273 people. In 2009 there were 2,292,133 people incarcerated in the United States. That's 1 documented innocent person per 8396 imprisoned...there's an exact number for your few and far between.

Then be very careful of what you say.

That's a subject for a different thread. If you start it I'll chime in.

I suppose it doesn't matter as long as you aren't the 1 out of 8396..... right.... or worse yet and that being the one to dangle at the end of a rope for something your brother or sister did..... right?

I'm assuming there is a lack of vision or reading comprehension. I have said now FOUR TIMES that "1 is too many"...if you guys need me to break it down more simple than that, I don't know what to tell you. As for being very careful what you say, I don't think I'll change my ways just b/c a few people want to twist words to fit whatever they want them to mean. Doesn't interest me in the least, LOL
