God that just reminds me of Literature lessons trapped with Helen and her going on and on and on and on about what a pathetic fallacy is and most of the class just looking blankly back at her before saying "I don't understand."

Used to drive me crazy how utterly moronic they were. Same with other literature techniques like epistolary ("But I don't understand how The Colour Purple is written in epistolary style" "Because it's written as letters" "But surely that would make it a letter style?") or circumlocution. [/literature rant]
