I think GB is losing on purpose to get the USC QB.
Nah, they're not losing on purpose. Although getting Leinhart certainly looks like a good idea, the problem is they drafted Rodgers and unless they can trade him off to someone else that needs a QB of the Future (Jets? Dolphins? Cowboys?).
They also need to look at the future of their offense from the tailback position as Ahman Green is getting older and with his consistent injuries. Who knows if this rookie, Samkon Gado is going to work out. And with talent such as USC's Reggie Bush & LenDale White, Minnesota's Laurence Maroney, among others.
I have a feeling Sherman will be fired after this season and hopefully, they retain Jim Bates and/or make him the new Head Coach with more emphasis put on the defense. Seeing how this model has worked for other teams, I don't think it's too far fetched to see happening.
Not to mention Javon Walker. Will he still be able to be the primary receiver after tearing his knee apart?
Bates has done wonders for this defense considering how bad it was last year. But they still have a lot of trouble on that side of the ball, especially in the secondary.
If Favre retires and they let Green go. That will open a huge amount of cap space and with any luck, they can go about patching up the team and make it a more a solidly balanced team.
Afterall. It IS the NFC North where the Lions are hopeless no matter how much talent have. The Bears have a good year every now and then. And the Vikings are just sad, never being able to catch a break.
