Also, according to the 'Reporters Without Borders' Press Freedom Index, Singapore is placed at 133rd. Your country really seems to be a beacon for hope and democracy in an uncertain world.
You think Kevin Rudd or Obama gonna be stressed out with what the reporters say?:24:

Like I mentioned earlier we will hit below the belt. Don't think just cuz you are based in US you can't be punished by our local laws. You mess with us, you will pay the price.

Sounds like your proud of this... I guess I'm not surprised. The Singapore justice system will really shine the day the black bag team hauls you away, and then you can fight for your innocence against a stacked deck. Scribble us a note and let us know how you are feeling then. ;)

Top ratings for justice system here

WHEN the World Bank published a book on Singapore's justice system this year, it said the 'performance test' lay not in statistics, but in whether the system improves lives and increases public confidence in the rule of law.

Released in March, it noted that over the past 15 years, the judicial system has been transformed to one 'widely seen as among the most efficient and effective in the world'.
Among the recent surveys was one this year by the Hong Kong-based Political and Economic Risk Consultancy (Perc), which placed Singapore second in Asia - behind Hong Kong and ahead of Japan - for the quality of its judicial and legal system.

Perc noted in a 2006 report that Hong Kong and Singapore were the only two systems within Asia whose judiciaries 'rate on a par with those in developed Western societies'. And it said in its 2007 report that most foreign investors see the judicial system here as 'effective and consistent in its rulings'.

A World Bank report in July on worldwide governance indicators had Singapore third in the rule of law after New Zealand and Canada, and ahead of Australia, Britain and Hong Kong.
The Swiss-based Institute for Management Development also had Singapore consistently ranked high since 1997 for its legal framework component - which supported the competitiveness of the economy.

In the 2006 listing, Singapore was second - one place below Hong Kong, and ahead of Iceland in third. The United States was placed eighth, Australia ninth, Finland 10th, and Britain was 36th.
Other studies in recent years which place Singapore highly included those by the Economist Intelligence Unit, Canada's Fraser Institute, and one jointly done by American think-tank The Heritage Foundation and The Wall Street Journal.

Also cited in the compilation was a survey last year of the Singapore public's confidence in the administration of justice here.

It found that 95 per cent of respondents felt there was trust and confidence in the fair administration of justice, up by 3per cent from a similar survey in 2001.

This is a classic example of the justice system in USA (latest news btw)
DNA Exonerates Man Jailed for 30 Years
(CLEVELAND) — An Ohio man tasted freedom for the first time in nearly 30 years Tuesday after a judge vacated his conviction because DNA evidence showed he did not rape an 11-year-old girl.
"It finally happened, I've been waiting," Raymond Towler, 52, said as he hugged sobbing family members in the courtroom.

Towler deflected a question about demanding an apology and said he understood justice can take time. "I think it was just a process, you know, the DNA," he said. "It just took a couple of years to get to it. We finally got to it and the job was done."

Kerry Cook's Five Flaws in the American Justice System

Kerry Max Cook gave a keynote address at a luncheon held by The Texas Journal of Civil Liberties and Civil Rights on April 17. Texas Moratorium Network was also a financial sponsor helping to bring Kerry to Austin for the event. The Daily Texan says that Kerry listed five flaws in the American justice system that lead to innocent people being wrongfully convicted and sentenced to death as he was.
Cook made the opening address at an annual symposium on civil rights held at the UT School of Law Tuesday. The symposium focused on prison systems in Texas and across the U.S.

"These flaws send innocent men and women to their deaths," said Cook, who wrote a book called "Chasing Justice," addressing his experiences with the legal system.

The first flaw is an error of mistaken identification, and the second is the use of weak inmate testimony by the prosecution, he said. The third flaw is "junk sciences." Cook said this is when the prosecution calls expert witnesses who essentially tailor their findings to remove reasonable doubt and ensure conviction.

The fourth flaw, prosecutorial misconduct, Cook deems the most critical in regards to his own false conviction, he said.

"The reason for that degree of prosecutorial misconduct is that prosecutors enjoy qualified immunity, and in the wrong hands, it becomes nothing short of a license to lie and cheat," he said.

The fifth flaw is ineffective assistance counseling, Cook said, using a comparison between Kmart and Saks Fifth Avenue shoppers to show what having the money to hire the best lawyers can do for someone.

"Money is what determines who lives and dies in this country. The death penalty is not racist; the death penalty targets the poor," Cook said.

I'm against the death penalty for that reason. Too many mistakes, too many prejudices.
Now back to the topic proper. Fuck those stupid statistics.

You came up with some stupid fuck statistic that doesn't show America as #1 and posted it without thinking.
You guys been bragging alot abt free speech, freedom, democracy, human rights etc and you want some statistics which show America as #1? There will never be such statistics - In fact America should have been slotted in one of the bottom five positions. Your flawed justice system is sending innocent men and women to prisons and to the gallows. So as far as human rights is concerned you fall way behind China and N. Korea. :24::24::24:

No American here expressed any desire to see such statistics. Talk to the idiot that started the thread.

I can see you are beholden to the americans from day one.

no, I just think if you're going to make accusations like that about anyone you have to be able to back them up. If you can't, which I know you can't, you're not only being intellectually dishonest you're also being a bit of a dick.
