.....i think you meant to say "weren't"....and i thought you lawyer types were above playing to the emotional side of thingsYeah I guess those people jumping out of the 110th floor of the World Trade Center were running from the "big scary monster of terrorism" because as we all know there isn't any terrorism left in the world to be concerned about.
i'm glad -i guess- those particular images are etched in someone else's mind, too, tho....
osama and his band of lunatics destroyed a lot of lives that day....there's not an american alive -and only a relatively small percentage of humans worldwide- that didn't/haven't grieved about 911, or will ever forget it....but the "big scary monster" of terrorism is the thing that will destroy our way of life......i firmly believe that only we can do that.....you might say that some liberals are destroying -or at least threatening- our way of life because they don't take the brutality, or the goals, of individual acts of terrorism seriously enough...that they resist necessary safeguards to insure "it never happens again" or that terrorism is purged from the face of the planet.
i'd probably agree to some extent....the west had certainly known about the existance of terrorist groups, and their actions, for a long, long time....it's a crime, imo, (and not bush's) that it had to come home to roost before it became serious enough to outrage us..... but none of that excuses the jr. bush's use of fear to solidify public opinion wrt to iraq.
you'd have to ask abe for the specifics on that strauss.....all i said was that given the context, it made a certain amount of sense to me.....tough to want to win a war when your killing your own countrymen.....talk about the threat of destroying our way of life :eekI sorry I didn't understand that the First Amendment was situational. Please enlighten us, when is it okay for a president to ignore the First Amendment?
he took a risk violating the constitution....was it worth it?.....from this place, standing way down the road of history, we probably both agree it was.
the weakest of your rebuttals, imo.....but arguably correct....I'll agree with your lack of thinking. There is no parallel, which is the point, Bush has never engaged in the same unconstitutional behavior as good old Abe. Now don't read that as a condemnation of Abe, I'm just pointing out the facts.
had to look that one up.....bush derangement syndrome?.....do you think he takes medication for that? You suffer a severe case of BDS.
i don't know how i caught it....i thought it was only contagious if you were a conservative
maybe i'm being too reasonable about the guy
