Awesome shot :thumbup

At first glance, I actually thought the turtles are on top the back of a crocodile. The log has that greenish discoloration due to moss maybe and hence my perceived illusion....224_animated_ninja_disappearing.gif :24:

Thanks peeps.

Crocs! There ain't no crocs there thank goodness.

It would be nice if they would turn and face into the sun so I wouldn't always get a butt shot. An actual picture of their little biddy head would be a change.

True dat. There's even some mud left on the smaller one.

** Memo to self: Next year name the thread ... " The turtles have emerged from the mud again and are sunning themselves in order to warm up so in a round about way they are back even though they never really left.... it just looked like they left which they did but only into the mud and just for a few months. **

Thread titles are limited to 25 characters. :p

But it has always amazed me that turtles can swim to the bottom of the lake/pond, dig into the mud and stay submerged for months at a time without breathing...

I understand that they take in small amounts of oxygen from the water through the lining of their mouths... but still... amazing

I've never researched them cuz... well they are just turtles. I'm going to update myself now though because you've peeked my interest being the nature lover what I is. I will specifically be looking for info on " Painted Turtles " because that's what our resident turtle lady called them last year.

For a moment, I thought it was a taxi ride too- I got a pic like that :p
I have quite a few turtle shots but not the one I want yet. Here's a few more from previous years.
