Ohhhh, i see, i do apologise...is jim ok??.....

No need to apologise sweetheart. You see, demented alien is actually a very lonely masochist. When he's particularly lonely he insults me just so I can verbally abuse him and prove my intellectual superiorty. He loves feeling belittled and I get the satsifaction of having done a good deed for the day.

The second-biggest travesty of the Iraq War is that some people will never hear about the good being done over there. The biggest travesty is that some will hear it, but refuse to acknowledge it.

Yes some good things have been done by individuals in a bad situation. But the big picture over shadows anything the good deeds have accomplished. This war which was started for no legitimate reason and has lasted longer than WWII, only about a 1000% percent longer than the Administration assured us it would last (6 month adventure according to Bush Administration prior to start of hostilities), is driving the U.S. into bankruptcy or at a minimum adversely effecting our standard of living for the foreseeable future. Not helping, we have a government who thinks they can print unlimited piles of money to deal with it. Republicans should be screaming about this monumental irresponsibility, but surprisingly they are the most ardent cheer leaders of this colossal failure of big government. Remember they used to be against big government, that is until their team gets in and then it's blanket approval. So much for maintaining their standards. :smiley24: And I might as well mention McCain who has a tendency to vote down programs for veterans, our suffering traumatized veterans who have served their country well.

Factor in the huge sacrifice of our troops, thousands of deaths, and tens of thousands of permanent injuries, I hope you guys (not necessarily you dt3) who support this war feel you're getting your moneys worth. You know the Bush Administration and all of their back room friends feel this war has been an outstanding bargain.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

9-11 happens, we rightfully attack Afganistan and kick Taliban butt. But, before we get Bin Laden, we pull chocks and head for Iraq, for no legitimate reason, and when we had a favorable government in Pakistan who allowed us to cross the border at will who would have allowed us to get that rotten bastard, Bin Laden. And now, and now, Pakistan no longer likes us and won't let us cross the border???

Any I want to clarify something incase anyone thinks I'm picking on the military. I'm not. This was bullshit from the top, down with incompetent political leadership who have their heads up their asses when it comes to world affairs.

This link is from July: U.S. Not Allowed To Hunt For Bin Laden?.

That's been my position also. I am against the half-hearted, dickless attempt on the part of politions as to how they have run the Aghanistan war. I support the troops all the way but am far from pleased with the way they have been treated by the politicos. Russia had hundreds of thousands of troops in Afghanistan and failed so what does the Western powers expect to accomplish with just 60,000? I bet my monthly salary against anybody here that once the west withdraws the country will once again fall into a combination of civil war and anarchy, with the bad guys once again firmly ensconced as king of the castle.

I hope we get the hell out of there. That place is worse than Iraq. The USSR could not get control so what makes anybody think it is possible. Too many warlords and a society that is used to being subservient.

Question: The Iraq War has the largest ever participation of contractors because:

1) Our Armed Forces were not prepared to fight such a war and needed the help.
2) War is BIG BUSINESS and the Bush Administration capitalized on helping their business friends cash in.
3) Other.
