Er, I don't see a video I know I probably couldn't access it from work but doesn't look like anything TO access.

An amazing video, thanks for sharing that.

Please everyone watch this. We need to change, and we can only change when we understand exactly what our lifestyles are doing to the planet, to people all around the world, and to ourselves.

The video covers:

1) Our linear consumption model
2) The effects of Globalisation and American Imperialism
3) The true cost of stuff we buy
4) how much of the planet is now destroyed
5) Why we consume
6) How corporations INSIST we consume
7) How advertising works
8) Why we need to alter our values
9) How we became consumers in the first place.

WATCH IT, PEOPLE! It's important!

It's thanks to these people that my book, "Everything I know about wrestling", never got printed as it killed 5 trees for every book. Bastards.

Publish it electronically.

Books are sustainable though, forests are planted especially for that purpose.

Yeah I didn't watch all of it, won't claim to, but I watched the more important parts, where the rubbish goes etc etc. It's interesting certainly and I certainly believe she believes in what she's saying.

Humans are VERY wasteful. It's one reason why I am so tired of consumerism. This video actually talks about consumerism...that consumerism was actually planned by people, and instilled into us and making us think that all we need to do is shop shop shop!

And how well the system works too!

Work everyone too hard, leaving them too tired to engage in anything other than TV, which then fills everyone with the consumerist mentality.

It's genius, really. Evil, evil genius.

What do you think is the solution??

I don't know Kim's idea, but I see it thusly:

A change in values.

An understanding of our relationship to the natural world around us.

A removal or corporatism, capitalism, the monetary system.

Basically a remodeling of society is the only solution.
