Maybe all you shoe people can answer for me. How the hell do you walk in heels? Maybe it's the way I walk but I constantly feel like I'm going to roll an ankle waking in them. It's not like I'm wear super high heels either. So, what the trick?

If you have a hard time, get some with an ankle strap so they support you better. Keep walking heel to toe and make sure you don't lean, keep your weight centered. Start small and work your way up. And they have to fit really well. I have a pair of heel grips in one pair of mine and it keeps them on and I can't even tell I'm wearing heels.

I think that's my problem. If I don't concentrate, me feet roll a bit inward when I walk. If I concentrate on stopping that, then I loose my balance. I only wear low heels for this very reason (theoretically, I will hurt myself less if I actually do end up rolling my ankle in them). But I never thought about ones with ankle straps. I rarely wear heels but there are times that call for them and I hate worrying about hurting myself the whole time I'm in them.

I have weak ankles Amber so I know what youre saying, it takes practice to learn to walk in heels but once you figure it out you dont forget kinda like riding a bike. I say if you want taller heels, you need to walk around in the house with them on for a couple days and then youll get it. :)

I don't necessarily want higher heels but I want to be comfortable enough to walk in low ones when needed. I do try to practice in them but it never seems to be enough.

You can do ankle strengthening exercises. When you're sitting, if you get that opportunity, make the alphabet in capital and lowercase letters with your toes and make them as big as possible.

Chunkier heels are easier to walk in too- you have more stability because there is more contact with the ground.

Definitely practice helps. But I also work out my ankles by doing calf lifts on step.
