I don't think it's as bad as they make it out to be. It will only take months to heal if not done by a professional.

Most body piercists take their work very seriously, and are extremely talented and careful at what they do. Yet, according to that little image, it seems one is guarenteed to be fucked up tremendously from any piercing any where. Which is complete crap.

I had some minor swelling, which resulted in this so called "speech impedement" when I had my tongue done... lol, speech impedement? I had trouble saying some S's for a few days. A temporary lisp.

i dont think that its a problem. however you have some people who see a sign that says "piercing" and stop and run in without a second thought. those items listed are the serious side effects that can happen. look at any medicine commerical that comes on they list every possible thing, including death, that can happen.

your right if you a going to someone who takes there job serious then they are very careful. however some people are out there to make a quick buck and dont do the job right.

I have both nipples pierced, my eyebrow pierced (well, it was until my retainer fell out while I was sleeping and the piercing closed up), and then 2 regular ear piercings. I haven't worn earrings in probably 8 or 9 years and they haven't grown up...they never do, no matter how long I leave them out.

I have only had a problem w/ 1 of my nipple piercings and that was b/c I snagged it on a doorway one time. It got infected afterwards and I just had to make sure to keep it clean. The eyebrow piercing would occasionally get infected, but that was my fault b/c I would switch out my retainer and my ring so frequently (every few days, b/c I can't have it in at work).

I would like to get both eyebrows done in the future. My bestfriend is a paramedic and a piercer, so I'm good on that. ;)

I'm pretty anti-piercings personally, but only because every one I've ever had has been terrible. I got my ears, they were fine..then i got my ear cartilage. It was awful. I had to cup my hand over my ear when I slept to keep from having it touch anything, and it was really, really sore for like...a year! I finally just took it out because it hurt like hell all the time. I also had my labret pierced. That is the LAST piercing I will ever get. I'm not sure why I put myself through that. I have a horrible scar and my gumline is ruined from the barbell I had rubbing on it. Mine got infected a LOT...oooh it was sooo painful! NO MORE PIERCINGS!
