I'll have to pass (not that it matters to anyone LOL).

Going from Poe to the big screen? That's your first warning. Second warning is having JC having a staring role in it. Heck, I'd probably find Vincent Price's reading of Poe's work more entertaining.

I couldn't disagree more. Roger Corman's Poe adaptations with Vincent Price are WONDERFUL.

I stand corrected. Perhaps it's just the JC thing LOL JC is no Vincent Price. There are a couple of other actors that I can think of that would of been better suited for the role IMO.

Haha. I like John Cusak, he plays a weirdo well. Look at Being John Malkovich? :D

Perhaps. I do however remember Vincent Price and realize that you don't need a lot of gore to be effective in the horror theme. Watching the film trailer, it just looks like they're going for a lot of "flash" if that makes any sense.

That's not to say I wouldn't see it when it finally makes it way to the "cheap seats".

Agreed, you don't need gore to be effective. Also, unfortunately "flash" is what movie goers look for these days. Special effects.

If Roger Corman released the Vincent Price, Poe films TODAY, they would flop. Regardless of how much cinematic merit they possessed.

Film in general is in trouble IMO.

On that we agree completely. That said, recently saw "Super 8" at the cheap seats, and although the ending was kind of cheesy, I though overall a very well made film (absolutely NAILED the 70's lol)

Things are getting bad here Darrell. My dad is in my basement putting together one of my old "new in the box" 1978 Star Wars X Wing models for his grandson, and I actually thought you might find it kind of neat LMAO.

I enjoyed Super 8, but found the ending to be a bit underwhelming.

and

Oh god. Just think, each piece he snaps off the sheets in that box is probably worth $5-$10. :24:

My dad was cleaning out the house of my old toys for my son and came down for a couple of weeks. You should see the "mint" GI Joe and accessories (things I have forgotten long about), all the original 70's Star Wars stuff. I also had long forgot about my hot wheels, but remembered them instantly when I saw them for the first time in about 35 years.

Love my dad, he's putting that model together with the only glue we have in the house, wood glue LOL

LMAO. Awesome. A little unconventional, but a Grandpa your son won't soon forget, no doubt. :D

He's 79 and still goes to Alaska and Montana every year to fly fish. His golf has gone down hill due to his age, but he still will break 85 from time to time (makes his day now) and still has a 170 bowling average. When he hit 69 he followed me down in a duckie while I was in my kayak on the lower yough running at 3'. Although I didn't spend a lot of time with him as a child because he was overseas a bunch with the air force, a great man, husband and father in my book. Off topic sorry, couldn't resist talking about him LOL

That said, growing up, more than a couple times we almost came to blows with each other (still remember when he chased me with the tire iron), and we really didn't get along. Go figure.

I just remembered, Simpsons already did a rendition of The Raven and nobody can do it better, so no point :D
