Toxic positivity can make it hard to express real emotions. Have you felt pressured to appear happy when you weren’t? How do you find a balance between optimism and honesty?

Sometimes ago, I read a study where it was established that self help books actually make people more miserable. Positivity should come naturally, you cannot force yourself to become positive just through affirmations.

Well, I must say, I’ve felt the pressure to seem upbeat even when stressed or upset. I find balance by acknowledging my feelings privately or with trusted people, while staying generally positive in public. Honest self-expression alongside measured optimism helps me stay authentic without spreading negativity.

It could be really hard to stay positive when you are dealing with life problems. I stayed positive for two years when I was bullied at school for straight two years because I believed that there will come a time when this will end. I really wished if I could do something about it.
