Usually, if my phone rings during the night, it's not good. We use cells only. My number is programmed into a computer which monitors lift stations. If I get a call during the night, it's usually "Skadealarm" calling to inform me of a problem. Or, one of the other guys calling to have me come out and help with a problem. So, no, it's not usually a good thing.

My mom called me at 6am the other day... I was like, "oh shit what happened". She wanted to know if I had taken her vacuum because she couldn't find it. As it turns out, my brother took her vacuum because theirs broke, but didn't bother to tell anyone.

My mobile goes on silent. If it was that urgent my folks would turn up at my house and buzz my buzzer til someone let him in, or he would let himself in and ring the doorbell. My mobile is permanently on silent anyway come to think of it, gets put on vibrate in the day and off vibrate at night. Anyone interrupt my sleep will feel the wrath haha

I don't do phone calls between 9 PM and 9 AM but I do leave the sound on since I have a tendency to sleep entirely too late. I should probably set special ring tones so I can decide if it's worth getting out of bed.

we had many many calls after midnight almost every week .. 99% was from my husband work .. if the the alarm in the work gone off they used to call him .. .. most of the time used to tell them to call others for this reason
he will not travel an hour to check ..
so i never worried much
