I was switching servers from where the alliance characters are to the horde ones, and then both of them were locked. lol I think they've increased the cap though.

I want to play it but I just cant get over the fact that I would have to pay a monthly charge
and one that is more expensive than xbox live
I know alot of the data is on the server.
I have been playing online games since doom 2 and havent paid

Yeah, I was having the same problem. I'm like "Why? Why does it have to be the two servers I play on?" -_- But, eh.

Well, I finally did it. I'm playing WoW again! There is soooo much to do. I have three 80s to level. Also have to level professions and I have my 65 warlock to work on. So much has changed!

Is it good? I quit right before Cata and I'm pretty curious about whether it's fun, but I don't dare do much research in case I get sucked back in :(

@HK: I for one quit right before Cata, too. But recently I got 10 days free play time from Blizzard - obviously they've been hoping to get me back. So I've logged in and...really...I could have cried about the old world, about how it looks now. Couldn't stand it and of the 10 days free time I just logged in on 2 evenings. That was it.
Aside from that I hate the new talent trees - they were the reason for me to quit.

But: there are a lot of ppl being very enthusiastic about the "new old world".

I've been going back and forth on whether I like it or not. The new zones are really cool... the first time. But when you have 6+ characters to level through them, it's so ridiculously repetitive, because you basically just get shuttled to a quest hub, told what to do, and then whisked away to the next one. So it's basically being spoon fed to you and made even easier for all of the bad players.

On the other hand, I've been told that raids are much tougher, at least for heroics... though I haven't raided at all cause I don't really have the time or energy for it these days.

It depends on if you like doing the same thing over and over again. The leveling experience in the new zones is kinda fun the first time. The lore is interesting, and the phasing is pretty cool. But the leveling experience is going to be exactly the same for every character you play. They've basically done that with the whole game. I leveled a warlock to 57 and quit (because I hate TBC and can't bring myself to play it again right now..lol), and the entire thing is just do these quests, go to this place and do those quests, etc. Which I guess is good for people who don't really know what zone to go to to level next, but I always liked the opportunity to have options. the new plaguelands areas were pretty cool though.

All in all, it's a matter of opinion. If you get the option, do the ten day trial thing. That should be enough time, depending on how often you play, to level one 80 to 85, and to experience some of the "new old world" content. That way you can decide. I've basically quit playing the game at this point after being a pretty solid player and raider up until I started school last fall. I tried the expansion a bit after it came out, maxed two characters, got bored, and really don't play much. It's all about each person. Lots of people think it's awesome. Me, I miss vanilla WoW.

its kind of odd that the old world has gone through so much change in azeroth, yet the outland is untouched by any story

Well... Outland is a completely different world than Azeroth. What I find amusing is that Northrend is completely untouched.

Leeeeroy Jeeeenkiiiins.....I miss playing WoW. I too hung my daggers up right before the release of Cata. Now 2 guys that I work with who were EQ junkies decided to start playing. So I have to hear about it all of the time. Ahh the good old days...

I used to play WoW, but then I realized I wanted women in my life.

Just kidding guys. I played WoW when it was first released, and while I had fun, it never hooked me. Thankfully. :)
