Heres my thoughts in a nutshell. The government exists to do what the private sector wont, can't, or shouldn't do. The smaller government is, the better. The less say they have in my life, the better. Hillary and Obama are all about bigger government and more government involvement in my life, and to that I say :fing27

All of that tax money goes towards paying for stuff so you don't have to in the long run. Basically, it pays for all the stuff you want to use, and society as a whole. So in the end, you WON'T need a large sum of money made at the end of the year to be living pretty.

I think people are confusing government involvement and government authority still. Socialism is simply government involvement. That isn't bad.

I think people are confusing government involvement and government authority still. Socialism is simply government involvement. That isn't bad.

In your opinion it isnt, but I want as little government involvement as possible. I trust me with my life much more than them. Are you forgetting what snakes elected officials are?

A lot of the greed and corruption comes from the way the system is set up. of course humans are naturally like this, but it has a lot to do with the system in place. Thats not to say governments like socialist ones are any less corrupt, but to me, a socialist system is much more efficient and fair to everyone. I highly doubt anyone would refuse help from the government if they really needed it. You'd be a fool not to if you couldn't help yourself. I'm all for self reliance and less government authority, but for more government involvment. Involvment just means "hey, we're here if you need us to help you out", not "DO THIS OR ELSE!".
