The Navy Seals are now my new hero's for the following.

They didn't just shoot Bin Laden in the head, they did it with a "double tap"
They didn't just give him a burial at sea, they booted his ass from a helicopter on their way back to the ship.
They did this in a foreign country without losing anyone
They gave the US another holiday
They handed Obama a victory in 2012
And they effectively removed the royal wedding and Trump from the news cycle...

I can't even imagine how elated those involved must have been to kill him and boot him out. Glad for them.

Is there any official word about a holiday from this? Just turn the first week of May into a party week with Cinco de Mayo :p

There was a moment I thought "wow, the tables have just turned for Obama", but there is still so much time for him to screw up his public image, and still so many people who despise him regardless of what he does. Still, I think the game has changed. In my opinion, he was surely out for 2012, and now he has a chance again.

I can see the presidential debates now...

Obama just sitting back in his chair, he looks over at his opponent and says, "I killed Usama Bin Laden, what have you done?" :24:

Using the real spelling of ubl's name. I'm proud of you. Are we allowed to go back to that now that he's dead? :willy_nilly:

Tho, I never changed it. ubl is ubl. I never used the expression Freedom Fries or Freedom Toast either. I left that to the politicians sitting in their ivory tower.

It's an Anglicised version of an Arabic name, not sure it matters too much on spelling. (Look at Gadaffi\Gadhafi\Qaddafi) :)

Our politicians changed the spelling of it right after September 11th. Can't be having a terrorist having USA as the first three letters of his name.

Perhaps they knew then that Barack would run? That way it was so easy to confuse Obama w/Osama... :willy_nilly:

Personally, I thought all the re-naming going on back then was a bit dim.... I'm sure the French were sooooo offended by our name change of french toast and french fries. :24: We showed them didn't we.... *facepalm*

I never liked using Osama... to me, he will always be Usama or just Bin Laden.

It irks me that people will intentionally use Osama because it is very close to Obama.
Like him or hate him, President Obama is our president and should not be equated to a terrorist. I hated what Bush stood for and didn't think very highly of him personally, but he was my president and he wasn't the same as Usama either.

I'm confused, why did they kick his body off a helicopter? I thought they had to do DNA testing and all sorts?

Or had all that already been done?

The body wasn't kicked out of a helicopter... that was my own little spin on reality.

All we have been told was, he was given a burial at sea. We don't know what they did with the body before that happened though....

Oh I see! I was thinking it was a bit rash to spend all this time looking for the guy, kill him, and then dispose of the only concrete evidence in such a manner :p
