So I'm finally back at Ft Hood after a long, emotional court process back at Ft Polk. It seems that even if someone lies on their first police statement, fails a polygraph test, and then admits to doing a crime that they are still good to go, and they are completely innocent. I guess since I was the only civilian in a military court that the higher ups seen me as just that- a lowly civilian. I don't think I have ever been confused, pissed off, scared, or angry all at the same time. So, I lost my case, but only he and I know what really happened that night in February. I know what he did was fucked up, and not only emotionally hurtful but physically hurtful as well.

All I can say is Karma is a fucking bastard.



So how has everyone been? I haven't been around in a while and I apologize, but I swear I didn't forget about y'all!

actually the military shouldnt se you as a "lowly civilian". we (the civilians) are the ones that pays them to defend out country. they should be the ones calling us sir or ma'am and not vice-versa.

but to answer your question, im having a wonderful day. off work today and im getting ready to head to Virginia for a week of vacation to visit my family. gonna be a long ass drive but itll be great to get away from stuff here where i live (in Indiana) for a while.

but to answer your question, im having a wonderful day. off work today and im getting ready to head to Virginia for a week of vacation to visit my family. gonna be a long ass drive but itll be great to get away from stuff here where i live (in Indiana) for a while.

the military pays taxes both state and federal so don't go there....I am in the military and get taxed out my ass...as for the ma'am and sir we do show that much respect....I can't speak for everyone doing it but we are suppose to...if your going to rag on something make sure you have your facts...

+1 When I got my reenlistment bonus it was taxed at 28% right off the bat. And when I get my annual installment of that bonus every year it is taxed at 28% as well. And that is on top of the federal taxes that I pay each month. I am a resident of Florida, and we don't pay state taxes, so at least I get a bit of a break there. So, in a sense we pay ourselves.

Mayhem, I don't know the whole story behind what happened to you, but it doesn't seem like it was good just from what you've said in your post. I am sorry to hear that someone in my military did something hurtful to you. Please know that he isn't representative of the military as a whole. There are some of us who are good people.

but im a strong supporter for the troops, lord knows none of us civilians volunteered for a job that puts our life in danger like that.

CG does seem more appealing, its just hard since the nearest recruitment office is in tacoma washington! at least with the air force i have the resources available and someone i can interact with before i make my decision

ive contacted the CG recruitment office once but they really didnt seem that interested in giving me any information, i dunno maybe because im a girl? most recruitment offices are happy when they get someone interested in the branch...dont they get some commission for signing people up or something?

I didn't mean the military as a whole. I was talking about the folks in the courtroom. Maybe I should have said that instead. I don't hate all military people. Most of my friends are in the Army, not to mention I'm a military dependant, so thanks for the cheap stuff! I really just meant the 20+ people in the courtroom.

Did a Military person do something harmfull to you? If it was on Military property then I believe the Courtroom should still be in the County where it happend Because you are a civilian.

according to the UCMJ you can not be held in a military court if your a civilian. there must be more to this story your not telling us.

My lawyer said there wasn't. Once a case like this is closed, it's closed. Sucks for me.

I am a civilian, but it was a soldier that assaulted me, and it also took place in my sister's house on post which is why it was held in a military court. I was the victim witness, not just a witness.

I think you have a right to a trial in a civil court. A Military trial is just that for the Military. Question; Who responded to the 911 call? Was it base security?

If it happened on a federal installation, then it falls under Military jurisdiction, reguardless if you are a civilian or not. I was in for six years and just got out. Its kinda like speeding on post. Just because you are a civilian, they're not gonna call the City popo... you are gonna get a ticket from the MP's.

this i learned from when i shuttled an afb fella back to the afb... i was doing 40 in a 35... and he said even then they would hit ya with a felony... i was thinking :wtf
