Jesus man (no pun intended) but I can't believe how these media people are fawning over Obama like he's the second coming of Christ. I just don't get it--When Republicans get elected, I breath a sigh of relief more than anything, but I certainly have no delusions that anyone is going to be able to effect any significant change because the system of a federal government with significant control is doomed to failure (which is what the Framers attempted to avoid). To me its more that Republicans will interfere less rather than they'll do anything more, whereas a lot of these Moore-Ons think Obama is going to raise the dead or something. The gullibility is stupifying! :confused

I'm really pleased for your country...really pleased...I cried I was so happy for you all! For ALL of us...The world can start to heal now.

As long as you are unwilling to admit that the Republican Party has been a frigg'n disaster for working class people and ingrained with corruption, you have no authority to render judgements.

LOL! Kennedy did nothing for the country--he was President for two years. Seriously, what do you think Obama is going to do good for the US? Because having your approval is NOT what's good for OUR country. What you don't realize is that there is a built in bias in the media to have socialists in power in America not because its better for America, but because its BETTER OR YOU. If America is weaker, then conversely your country is stronger.

Obama can do nothing for America. In fact--THAT'S THE PROBLEM--that people believe someone else can do something for them. People need to learn that they need to do for themselves not expect the government to take care of them. The day I rely on Obama or Bush or anyone else to do for me is the day I'm in serious trouble.

Uhh, there have been more Democrats convicted and indicted in the last eight years than Republicans. There is corruption in both parties.

So again--what is Obama going to do for "working class people" -- what do you think he is going to do to make their lives better???

one word...hope.

Hope for what? National healtcare? Higher taxes? Government handouts? How's that healthcare system and huge tax burden working for you in Canada? I"m sorry--no offense, but my children have a better chance a success and achieving their dreams than your children do in Canada. Ambitious and energetic people have plenty of hope. The people who have hope now are people looking for government handouts--that's not hope in my book--maybe that's hope in Canada, but it not the hope I want for my children.

Thats for the elitists way of thinking Mulder... one where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Where a country such as yours believes they are above all others rather then trying to gain world peace world strength...its that mentality that brought your country down with Bush ...but thankfully with Obama it can only go up and get better,- so that selfish narrow minded stuff like what you just spewed can only become enlightened. A country only gets better by becoming one not by trying to say I am better than you and thats what the republicans did...they separated you from each other...THAT was your weakness.

It's not the end of the world Mulder. We've had libeal leadership in the past, and we're still around. I say we give it a shot, and if it doesn't work, it doesn't work.

Remember that it took a Carter to bring us a Regan. If Obama is really that bad, then the pendulum wil swing hard in '12.

The U.S.A. is far to grand a place for one man to destroy in 4 years.

I'm hopful.

No kidding.

Change is sometimes needed from having one party rule too much, you need a balance to make things work in my opinion. *shrug*

There's one big problem with your statement--its not factually correct--you are simply regurgitating what you've been told by the media and you've never even bothered to check if it was accurate. I could PROVE to you that the poor have not gotten poorer but in fact have gotten much richer in this country. I don't know why it selfish for me to prefer an economy and a system where everyone can do better.

And the Republicans did NOT separate us, the liberal Democrats did--they've played partisan politics aided by the liberal media for the past eight years and you've bought it hook, line, and sinker. How does it feel to be a pawn of the media elite? I don't listen to new reporters and journalists, I educate myself by looking at facts. If you did that, you'd know the statements you made are completely false.

And you've known me for years--I've never considered myself better than you or anyone else. Its not a matter of being better than anyone else, its a matter of having a system that allows the greatest possible freedom and encourages self-reliance and self determination, not a fucking system where we are totally dependent on the government. We already have too many people dependent and Democrats want more--they want the entire country dependent on them because that will guarantee their continued power.

No, he can't do it in 4 years, but he's the first step towards a socialstic economy where the citizens are totally dependent on the government. They'll take away economic freedoms a little at a time and once they are gone, they're gone.

And he'll be good for my business--lawyers love Democrats because they make it easier to sue people--hell they love litigation. I am not concerned for me--it doesn't matter for me because I've had my shot. I am far more concerned with my children's future. I have a daughter that wants to be a doctor. If Obama saddles us with a Canadian healthcare system, she won't go to medical school--she can't--it would never pay off. And that's the real shame--is that the brightest and best wont' go into medicine anymore.

So which freedoms will be gone exactly? What freedoms do you speak of specifically... I just want to know the fear from your point of view.

Economic Freedom, Freedom of self determination. You have to understand how our country initially was born and how much we rely on the Constitution. Originally, the states were very concerned with not having a federal government that had too much power--in fact, they demanded Amendments to the Constitution later on for assurance. The problem was they were tired of the English system of government. Well, 200 years later and the US federal government is far stronger than King George could ever think of being.

Its part of the pioneer spirit that people wanted the right to self determination. The idea is that local and state politicians are going to be more receptive to the needs of the people then people in federal government thousands of miles away, which is true.
