I envy you. :) Whenever I try to use eye shadow it looks as if someone has beaten me up. :24::24:

Even a friend of mine was totally perplex after saying "Come on, I'll show you how to use eye shadow" and after showing me figuring out that with eye shadow I look as if someone dealt me a blow on the eyes. :D

In my make-up bag:
MAC Studio Fix Powder
Maybelline Great Lash in Very Black
Revlon Lipstick in Soft Nude
Hard Candy eye shadow in Blind Date
Nivea Lip Gloss in A Kiss of Shine
Maybelline Lipstick in Pink Me Up
and some Carmex :D

I have a whole mess of other goodies, but the ones in my bag are what I use most. :)

This is what I look like with the powder, great lash, nude lipstick and a little bit of taupe eyeshadow:

I was the same about a month ago lol. Light brown neutrals will be your bestfriend, or at least they were for me. What I did was went to the store, bought the cheap shadow (Love My Eyes I think) and practiced. I'm not confident enough to do colors though.

Posh. You look beautiful in colors :) I think for anyone too afraid to step out of the "neutral zone", pastels and earthy colors are the best way to start. It's also important to know how much to use. Say, using a lot of eyeshadow and a really BOLD lip color. Bri did it nicely in one of the above photos, she used a colorful shadow and a soft lip, gorgeous!

I really recommend this site for people starting out with eyeshadows in need of good brushes.
http://www.eyeslipsface.com/

This is SUCH a good brush, and it's $1. Just don't wash it in hot water and melt the glue, but that goes for any brush.

And this is such a great shadow. Blendable, long lasting, and very flattering. Can be made smoky for drama or just subtle. I tend to always do a smoky eye, since my lashes are so light and sparse I need it to make my eyes pop.

My tip for color is to always just pick one. Eyes, lips, or cheeks. Pair a bright shadow (one that compliments your eye and hair color) with a blushy lip, or do a bright cheek with nude lips and just a smoky eye.

I tend to like a little bit everywhere, and this is my favorite look:

Now if only I looked that good wearing it :p LOL

Ya, they can get a bit bacterial..y
I know sometimes I will use my brush for a darker color then go to put a light color on and it's all muddied up even though I wiped it off, so I try to clean them to get the best color.

my entire bag is nothing BUT Almay with the exception of mascara and lipgloss. both those are CoverGirl. LashBlast waterproof and WetSlicks gloss

I also have the eyeshadow trio, but for brown eyes. For daytime, i use the top color only swept over the entire lid from lashline up to eyebrow and then tone it down with a couple sweeps of my blush brush. evening i use all 3 colors

I have dark circles under my eyes too, and i have found that the Almay under eye concealer works WONDERS!!

I have always gotten compliments on my makeup. its very natural looking but at the same time, made up and glam, kwim? Doesnt matter if its for day or evening, applying makeup takes no longer than 5 minutes!

blend the under eye concealer, apply the loose powder foundation, sweep on eyeshadow, light eyeliner on lower lid (darker color for evening), passing of each cheek with blush and a full sweep over entire face, mascara, gloss and VOILA! im done!

I'd love to join in but I hardly wear make-up these days :( since the sun came out I have a little more colour in my skin and I've just looked fine without, which is nice.

If I'm going out I use maybelline mousse foundation, avon mascara (my aunt is an avon lady) and vaseline rosy-tint lipbalm. Whenever I try to use heavy make-up I just look ridiculous, can't get the hang of it at all! I envy some of you guys doing all this complex stuff :)

i have terrible skin. Normally i would not post a pic of my bare face EVER. but i want to share with you my favourate product.
*note: i may remove this pic once enough ppl have seen*

DSCF1282.png

Because i have a lot of spots and redness in my skin before i even touch it with foundation i us L'Oreal studio secrets GREEN primer and GOSH touch up also in green. The green tones cancel out the red pigment in your skin.

DSCF1283.png

i then use maybelline matte mousse foundation beacuse it is really light and a GOSH blusher. i then use a powder foundation all over my face.

DSCF1289.png

for eye liner i use collection2000 Extreme which is literally a felt tip pen. VERY easy to use. i have black and purple on as i thought id show you guys the difference..but apprently there isnt much..

Very pretty Pinkporridge, thanks for posting this! I love eye look.
My skin has recently gotten a little funky, myself, for the first time in my life so I feel ya. I recently went off protein shakes completely because I've read they mess with your hormones and cause acne. Was worth a shot, and it's already a bit better.

Late reply but you're really pretty PP =]

Today I did an eye look that I'm really proud of and want to show off lol. It reminds me of twilight (not the vampires but the time of day). I wasn't aiming for this, I've just been experimenting with a new palette the last few days, but when I finished I was like "holy crap, I'm awesomely artistic!". On to the pictures!

Okay, here's how it came about. I recently bought the Preen palette from Urban Decay.
urban-decay-preen-palette.jpg

They are selling this for 10 bucks on their website. I found this to a serious deal, seeing as they're a high-end brand and all. You get six shadows, black eyeliner, and eyeshadow primer. Also some samples (I got some foundation primer). I recommend you all try this. I doubt you'll ever find this much Urban Decay for this cheap again. And it's good. When I took these pictures, I had been wearing it for about five hours and going in and out of humid heat (lower 80's). No creasing or color loss. I love it =]

I used the eyeliner it came with and the top two corner colors. The purple first. I blended that out til just about the crease. Then I went over that with the pinkish color; focusing on the crease and above. The pink tone is what I think makes me think of twilight because it has a few specks of glitter in it. So it's like the stars are just coming out.

I dunno, I love it :D
