Good to know you're feeling better now :D

I hope you were able to get your antibiotics.

Natural healing agent: Drink lots of cranberry juice and if you can avail of any fresh coconut juice ( canned if not available) then that will help with what you have ;)

I did get them and thanks =] I was taking cranberry pills before I was diagnosed. I would be doing that now but the doctor said to avoid juices while I'm on the antibiotics.

Well he told me to drink my weight in water basically. Avoid caffeine and juice. And go get another urinalysis in a week.

Ew, prunes. They make your dumps stink too.

Those Cranberry pills don't actually produce same effects as the real Cranberrry juice ;)

What type of Antibiotics are you taking?

Really? I always thought for bladder infections it was good to stay hydrated :ninja

I agree, one always have to be well hydrated with bladder infections :)

Wait, you seem so young to have a bladder infection. Isn't it maybe a urinary tract infection?

Well, prunes are good IF you have constipation ;)

True abt the water in proportion to your weight and to avoid caffeine. However, I've never heard MDs advise avoiding juices. :eek

Unless you have other medical conditions like maybe hyperacidity that may upset your stomach while on the antibiotics. Or when you take your antibiotics on empty stomach aggravating the side effects of the antibiotics on your tummy.

I know most MDs advise not to drink Grapefruit juice with Cholesterol or High Blood Pressure pills but my first to hear to avoid juices when it's a known medical fact that the acidity of those juices help heal the infection.

Really? I got ripped off then =[ Good thing I like cranberry juice lol. I've been intending to make it a staple in my diet but always forget. A glass a day would probably prevent all this.

They are called Bactrim.

Are they not the same? lol. The MD said bladder infection and the nurse that gave me the results of the urinalysis said UTI :dunno

I'd never heard of avoiding juices either, and I've had a few UTI'S. That was the first time I saw him. My regular doctor always says drink water until I can't stand it anymore then break it up with cranberry juice lol. I seriously almost said something about the acidity being beneficial, but I figured he's the doctor. Who am I to second guess lol.

Well, the carnberry pills are converted chemicals so it's no longer as natural compared to the juice itself given you use 'not from concentrate' juice. :thumbup

Normally Bactrim's the type of medication they use for UTI. I had to go double check to make sure if there was really a contraindication with juices and there's none ;)

Hahaha ....you're funny !!! :24: :24:

Maybe ur MD just stated Bladder infection not to complicate it :p but they're totally different anatomy and function. Bladder infections will happen after lots of untreated UTIs as the infection goes up to the bladder. The bladder one would be harder to treat. And more painful :(

Well unless there are other medical conditions you have that maybe your MD was worried about that will be aggravated when u use juices +antibiotics

Juice not from concentrate is so expensive lol. I'll just have to suck it up and pay though.
The only medical condition I have is FA (Friederich's Ataxia). Never heard of a juice complication but maybe he wanted to be safe. You seem to know a lot about the medical field, are you in it?
