that is truly frightening. Not because it might happen, but because how twisted some people really are. This is something that has always confused me about religion. Why, why, why if God is omnipotent, all knowing blah blah, why does he thrive on such petty human emotions? Why does he want people to fear him? Why would he cast his own children into hell?

The answer for this is of course very, very simple. We modeled God in our own image. And at the time he was created, people simply weren't very nice. So we've got an arsehole for a God. Great.
