I bet you can't predict everything you will think about within those 4 hours

Its a long time

I agree with Donnie, I have actually sat in a room with nothing to do but stare at the ceiling for a lot longer than that anyway, I've done it for a couple of days. Unfortunately it wasn't through choise and is boring as hell. I cant see the point anyway. I'm all for trying new things but things that I can get a sense of achievement and something to talk about from. Somehow telling someone you once stared at a ceiling for 4 hours straight dosen't tend to come across as something which will interest people of something to take pride in. More likely as something people will be thinking, "okaaay, wonder when he got out of the looney bin" about.

"Activity" is an age thing. Add twenty or thirty years onto yours and you won't feel so active. When I was 20 I was never home: work all day then straight out on my harley to cruise all night, brews, babes and bongs. Now I just like dragging my tired old ass home from work, cook some supper then plunk same tired old butt down in front of this computer and dispense with all the wisdom I have accumulated during my life.

Could you sit in a room for 4 hours with nothing to do but stare at the ceiling? No activity what so ever? No food and no drink.
Yes, I could, but probably not voluntarily.

I don't see the point. Why try to prove this? What is wrong with being busy anyhow? I'd rather be less busy than I am, but between school and work and socializing, there's nothing I can really do about it. I look forward to the days when I can come home from work and not have anything in particular to do. Or better yet, when I work at home to start with. :) But that being said, I still don't understand what's wrong with people being busy. Why does it matter?

Its purpose is to find yourself

What you think is you; could possibly be an image

The idea is to try not to think about anything.. and allow thought to come to you.

If it is forced upon you, you probably don't want help and it won't do anything because your most likely resenting the whole idea

A good example I found today was Ghandi - He had amazing influence and character

He spent 1 entire day every week in complete silence

Someone who captivated and commanded all of India with just words

Great questions :D

"The biggest problem in America today is that people, especially young people, will believe anything the media tells them."

Your signature

Yes its true most are sheople

And sheople can't sit in a room by themselves for 4 hours quietly

They are so busy with their addictions and responsibilities that they don't have opinion of their own.. if they can't develop an opinion with something as simple as politics.. imagine what their personality is like

Do you engage in smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol, caffeine, sugar, eating habits, masturbate, listen to music, watch tv, work too hard, or do drugs?

If so, welcome to the information ages littlest big problem.

We wake up and drive to school/work, then we drive home and go straight to more work, recreation, or socializing. Activity and distraction never stops.

But why do you think you have addictions and distractions? The most common response is: because they are fun. But to them.. its not denial, they really believe what they are telling themselves. Its like we constantly need something to do.

Everyone can relate to this in some sort of way.

So here are some questions you might want to ask yourself if you have addictions:

Do you get your opinions from someone or somewhere else? Or do you come up with them yourself?

Do you think your creativity has regressed since childhood?

Do you think your keeping your mind off of something that hurts?

Challenge:

Could you sit in a room for 4 hours with nothing to do but stare at the ceiling? No activity what so ever? No food and no drink.

Most people will say yes: but it will be boring.

If you said yes, I dare you to do this.

Set a timer on your phone or watch and sit in your bedroom following my guidelines for 4 hours.

If your life is dominated by distractions and addictions chances are you wont want to do it.

Question, can I sleep?

I found myself once.

In a dark room...all alone....Suddenly I was all over me.....I kept telling me no....But deep down... I knew I wanted it.
