ok.....obviously america has its own sports.....but nothing you have can compete with the champions league final of 2005....a highly fancied A.C.MILAN V V LIVERPOOL............its been heralded as the most dramatic final ever......you decide
Fun to watch, but at least ESPN is smart enough to SHOW THE FUCKIN SCORE!!!!! I didn't know if they were taking the lead, tying, or what the heck was going on :D

From what I've seen, Americans generally dont get sport unless it has complicated rules, generated music and lots of scoring, when will they learn that a goal is much more exciting than a touchdown because it happens less? That said, I'm not going to rip on their sport too much as Donny is being gradually converted to a West Ham supporter, give him a couple of years and he'll be shouting ICF! while chucking bricks at Millwall pikeys across Green Street!:D

I tend to shy away from sports where the clock counts up instead of counting down. Makes the end of the game seem arbitrary, especially when refs are adding on two, three, or five minutes on a whim. :)

We now have a board held up at 90 minutes for time added on but if you dont know exactly when it will end it's more exciting, teams trailing by a goal desperately shooting from all over the place because it's their last chance!:D

Soccer is the most boring sport on the planet. Watching guys kicking a ball from end to end and watching a game end 1-0 or 0-0 is painful. Its the biggest waste of time ever. Now, if I could just watch the scoring highlights like this, I'd probably like it better. I don't understand why its so hard to score a goal into something that tall and wide? Venom scored 3 goals to win the Gold back in 1962, yo.

Because of tactics!;) There's more to our football than you think, if you're playing a team miles better than you, sometimes its best to soak up the pressure and try to hit them on the break, especially if they have home advantage!;) Thats what West Ham did against skyblues Coventry!;)

But you'll never have the excitement of that great touchdown pass with no time left on the clock, or that long jump shot at the buzzer. :) I feel like the clock is such a huge factor on nerves and emotion, because in American sports, it is absolute.m I just don't get the same feeling from soccer.

Then again, I guess it balances out when you guys scream at the top of your lungs "GOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLL." Or is that only done in Central and South America?

:homo: It's way better than "Time's up!.......except for the next 5 minutes that we're going to add for no apparent reason."

I don't think so. I want to know how much time is left. It shouldn't be a damn mystery!
