This is a forum for adults. If I want to use the word fuck I will (as long as it is not breaking any rules).

I *think* there are 2 minors on this board, one of which has both of her parents on here too so they are aware of the content she is reading. The other is 16. I don't know about you but, fuck was not a foreign word when I was 16.

PG in PG-13 means 'parental guidance'. As far as I know there is only one situation like that here. With that being said, my opinion is that as much as adults should get respect from children, the same goes for adults respecting children. Using foul language, posting questionable material, etc. is not respecting children. Again, this is only my opinion.

Well your opinion supports censorship and I disagree with that

Correct me if I am wrong. But I thought a 13 year old boy joined not so long ago. Or should I stay off the caffeine for a bit?!

In the same token, if their parents cared about what they saw online, they'd monitor the minor more closely. So, if I didn't want my child to see/read/post anything inappropriate, I would check the sites out myself before letting them join. They would have rules. I'm with Peter, and most of the others, on not seeing the big deal in this.

Hmm you could be right, I don't know.

That does not change the fact that this is an adult forum, not a teenage forum.

I thought it was a "ten year old"? And I also thought the board agreed that was bullshit, seeing as he was using more profanity than the adults on the board.

I agree.

The problem is... anyone can put down any date of birth and pose as an adult, and only actually be in their early teens. It is hard to filter this out.

All said and done, if this is an adult forum, then people should say and do as they please...not their fault children has got in and joined. So other people should respect the fact that anyone saying the word "Fuck" or anything else is down to them, seeings as this is classed as an adult forum. We shall act as adults and be free of speech!!!!

No, it is not censorship at all. It is my opinion and how I feel. I don't care what you or others choose to do, it's just what I choose to do in this one instance. I am not naive to think that minors don't hear or see the words or other things. But my choice is not to be the one to give it to them. I just don't feel right about throwing the F word around knowing that there are minors here that can read it.

Ah my understanding was that you believed the board needed to adopt that mentality

The whole thing is stupid, honestly argh...teenagers will get on any internet forum they please. Everyone objecting to foul language in front of e-teenagers has probably unwittingly already done so. "Are you 18?" YES *click*
*just saw that Skorpy said the same*

I sometimes think people just want to always be offended by something at any given point. :\

Wow. I love it when people starting making the same mistakes I did in regards to Joe. Believe me. Joe and I have gone ROUNDS where I was blasting him and he was blasting back. Then I actually took the time to get to know and understand him. This is an internet forum people. You can't begin to think you know someone from just a few posts. Joe IS opinionated and will tell you what he thinks. He and I do not always agree, but I have come to know what kind of man he really is over the years. He is anything but a troll.

Back on topic... I am ready for more Skorpy pics :D

I completely agree.

But I think what is said, is it isn't necessary to swear in front of them, knowing they can read it. This is the way Joe sees it, I think.

We can't let the children walk around with eyes closed and ears blocked untill they are of adult age obviously...yes, they will hear it from somewhere at some point, and I hear kids outside my home at the age of 7 saying it. Horrible :L

Everyone's entitled to their opinion and are entitled to just leave the forum if they can't hack the odd swear word. It seems a very strange thing to do, join an internet forum, if you're offended by swearing. Like you say, you can't wrap your kids in cotton wool and if the're going to hear swearing anyway, it seems pretty pointless picking on an internet forum which you can control your kids from looking at much more easily. If you dont want your kids reading swear words on here, dont let them come to this site.

You are mistaken about what Joe see's though, Joe isn't some concerned over the top parent worried that his kids might be damaged in some way (still got no idea how that fucking works) if they read a swear word. If he was, he wouldn't use swear words himself. Joe is just a shit stirring troll.

No, not at all. It's not my board and I don't have any say in how it's run. Plus, I would never tell someone they can't do something just because it's the way I think. I don't know, I guess I just have strong convictions in certain matters because I think of how I would feel if it were my kids in question.

Yep, exactly my point too. They will always get on any forums.

I am not keen on swearing with children present. I don't swear often anyway. But it is an adult thing...and this is an adult forum. Therefor why should the adults feel they have to be careful. They come here to relax away from kids and still can't lol.

It is not as if this forum is for children too, and then swearing goes on. That would be wrong in my opnion.

Anyway, I'm out of this thread. I said my bit lol

Love yas all.

This has nothing to do with HIM as a person. It has to do with people disagreeing with him having a go about swearing on an adult forum
