The Dawn of the Effeminate Male

Whether a man works on his manscape or not is between him and his sexual partner. None of my business. I think the "metrosexuals" are the best example of the effiminate heterosexual male. I prefer a rugged look on me. My wife prefers me with a beard to clean shaven. If she expressed a preference on my manscape I would comply for the benefits of said decision.

Everyone has their own definition of "real" men and "effeminate" men. IMO, I don't think it really matters either way what someone else thinks of you. There are people out there who have a taste preference that you (general you) match. I don't see why it matters that some people think that it's more manly to be into cars and racing and drinking domestic beer and belching. To other people, that's crude and unattractive. The rules are the same for girls, too. Tomboys and girlie girls. It is what it is, and frankly, it shouldn't matter what someone else thinks, especially another guy, when you're not trying to get them to be interested in you.

Who cares?
There may be multiple definitions of "real" men, but I disagree with you about effeminate men. It has a clear defintion:

World English Dictionary
effeminate (ɪˈfɛmɪnɪt) dictionary_questionbutton_default.gifadj 1. (of a man or boy) displaying characteristics regarded as typical of a woman; not manly 2. lacking firmness or vigour: an effeminate piece of writing

I am a MAN,and yes I manscape. I have worked hard trying to keep myself in the best shape I can be. I shave my chest because, well, it just looks better. Why work so hard on your body if you dont want to be able to see the results of your work? I have in the past shaved arms, and legs also, but that was when I was younger and out trolling for the ladies alot more. lol But, But, But, I do not shave down below. A nice close trim, but not shaved.

I can't believe I am discussing this on a public forum.

Your definition of what makes something a typical characteristic of a woman that isn't deemed appropriate for men is where the line is hazy.

But thanks for defining effeminate for me in case I didn't know or couldn't look it up for myself if I was unclear. ;) :)

Anytime! Many are too lazy or stubborn to look things up for themselves as I have noticed from previous threads, so I thought I'd make it easier for those.;)

Also, I never gave a personal defintion of the word. I only used the facts that were presented to me and applied the actual definition of the word.

I think the point is that 'characteristics regarded as typical of a woman' is open to interpretation as well, so although being effeminate might have a definition, what we all regard as 'feminine behaviour' might vary somewhat :)

Like... I think skinny guys are effeminate, whereas some people won't agree at all.
