A good, balanced view.

This wasn't even a thread about gun control anyway, I only used that as an example and it wasn't to argue about guns at all, just a shame one or two people jumped all over it without reading this thread properly, just because they know my views on guns and jumped to conclutions. Any chance we can get this back on topic now, please?;)
did not think I jumped all over you

sorry to steer off course. it is the norm for me

i get bored easy :D

iOur gun rights are a direct result of the iron fist ruling over the colonies by Britain.

Whilst understanding that this thread is not about gun control, I divert for a moment to correct the above statement.

Actually, our Second Amendment is a partial and modified ripoff of a law that existed at the time in England. Unless you were Catholic, then you couldn't own a gun which is part of the reason the State of Maryland came into existence, Catholics leaving the oppressive mother country.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Bit like the Magna Carta which Donnie mentioned earlier on, most of it is irrelevant now but it laid the basis for why we have a Monarchy that cant just go around chopping peoples heads off because they get in the Queens way, anymore.

Interestingly I visited the Magna Carta memorial today, it's just down the road from me.
I should have bought a camera, because it's a beautifully simplistic monument/sculpture, that you yanks paid most for :clap:D

Then we had a few beers exactly where it was signed :) and visited the nearby war memorial for the hundreds of MIA pilots.
