I'm going to warn you up front that I still have not figured out how to get properly lighted pictures inside w/ my new digital camera, LOL. Photos do NOT do this church justice. If you're ever in Savannah, GA take the time to go inside this church and look around. There is no fee, but a donation box is placed near the door for those who would like to give.

As much as I disagree with what they stand for, there's no denying that some of the most beautiful buildings are religious places of worship.:thumbup

I agree with Peter

Kind of sad in a way how much money is spent on places of worship

Still there is no denying the beauty of the architecture

pretty!!

We have a St. John's Cathedral here, but it's all red brick which is really old school - not as pretty!

You did very good with your low light shots m'am. You really can't use flash because then everything will be washed out and stuff in the background will be black so you did good! The only thing I would say for next time is if you're in an even darker place I would bring a tripod or lean your camera on something so that even if the shutter takes its sweet time closing and letting all that light in, your picture won't be blurry from being moved around while the shutter is open.

Yanno, I don't know why I didn't think of using the pews to balance my camera. Maybe one day I'll go back and do a more serious type shot...after all, this was my 3rd trip to Savannah this year, LOL

Stunning looking building, inside and out.

edit: and as for your photos, I like the way you wanted to get symmetry where possible - good shots there 'tash.

I love old churches and they're few and far between here in Oz unfortunately.:(

The only "old" ones near me are wooden and falling down.

Great pics Tash

:homo:

another thing too is when you press the shutter button and you lift your hand, the camera moves too so you can get a shutter release cable - like a remote control - for $20

I LOVE those.

You can literally set your camera on the floor and dance around and take pictures as you dance....and no I haven't done this...:ninja
