I enjoyed it. I thought the violence was part of the environment, part of the story, and reinforced that Eli was "special" dealing with odds stacked against him or anyone for that matter.

Of for goodness sakes, I'm posting movies I've seen reccently in this topic instead of where they belong.

I think I already commented on The Book of Eli. I didn't like it. Too violent and contrived, with a predictable ending.
