I'm more historically inclined to watch it rather then religious but I like it very much. Although why does it half to be 2 hours?

It is interesting but seems to skip some things which my wife and I believe were religiously significant.

I imagine it would be hard to include everything in a 10 hour show.

What did they skip that you think are significant.

For example. When Mary told Elizabeth about carrying Jesus then Elizabeth's baby leaped in her womb. The baby was John The Baptist. A lot of things were not covered in the Old Testament. I am anxious to see how they cover the rest of The New Testament.

Trying to figure out if this dude looks like Obama.
Looks more like my 11th grade math teacher after grading tests.

that may have some resemblance to Obama but it also is similar to other dark characters who graced the screen long before Obama was known.

Much ado about nothing

Always somebody out there looking for an angle

Pathetic

i have watched the first two, have yet to see this past Sunday's. i have found it to be pretty interesting. i dont know much about the old testament, but cant wait to see the new testament.

as for the devil and people comparing him to the devil. the producers came out with a statement saying that the actor is moraccan(?) and has been cast as the devil before. as for people trying to "compare" his looks with obama, to me its just another ploy to try to divide this country even more.

:rofl2: It's the history channel not the fantasy channel...

Lets keep on track

I did not make this about whether the Bible was fact

I started this to see if the tv show follows what is in the bible

Thus far nobody has said anything is inconsistent. I was hoping that would be the case.

Fred is that ommission you cited really that important? Not sure I see the significance

That citation also is confusing as all get out to me. I can interpret it a couple of ways.

Since they omitted most of the prophets in the old testament it would have been great had they had a little more about John the Baptist and the fact Jesus & John were related. There have been a few minor things I have read much differently than they have been portrayed but that is poetic license I suppose. The series really seems to like portraying fight scenes. I will watch the next two weeks as well.

John the Baptist was eluded to often by the prophets as "The voice in the Wilderness" proclaiming the coming Messiah.

I hope they show that one where Jesus goes apeshit in the temple because they're gambling. That's my favourite bible story.

The Old & New Testaments are books of different faiths... Is this show a show about one faith's take or the Bible as a whole? If it's on Christianity than that's why they omitted the old testament.
