People sometimes tend to gravitate to the decade they were raised as children because they seemed to be much simpler times. Fact was, they were simpler, because our parents took care of our real problems.
Heck, if I had some of the educational games my son has at his fingertips, I could of been a smarter guy. Heck, a decade ago I was taking 14 year olds down the upper gauley on their first "real hard" run. NO KID would of ever thought of such a cool sport such as kayaking or snow boarding in the 70's (stuck with lame ass downhill skiing LOL). Heck, skateboarding was just catching on with the halfpipe in the LATE 70's.

I grew up in the 90s, we played outside with no mobile phones or anything for parents to get hold of us. Albeit when I was wee I wasnt allowed out the street myself but there were loads of kids in my street to play with, so that didnt matter. As I got older, we would vanish and come home around tea time when we got hungry.

I miss my Big Wheel.... It is indeed how we rolled
If you're like me, you may be able to sit in it, but you won't be able to pedal it.
We've got one down back on the hill. Couple months ago, my son and his cousins were riding it down the "big hill" after I gave them idea to LOL
Kids also had fun rolling down the hill head over feet LOL
My wife however is drawing the line at truck sledding if we ever get a good snowfall:24:

We didn't use cardboard squares, but playing cards.
I was actually way ahead of my time when it came to a bike back then. I told my parents I wanted a girls bike because it didn't have that cross bar that rode directly under your crotch. My reasoning at the time was because I could do more tricks with the bike by moving my legs side to side easier without that "boys" bar in the way
i have fond memories of this trip i took... it was loong and tiring
