I was sitting here in school one day and started thinking about how many girls in my school are pregent!!!! we had a girl get pregent last year and she droped out and this year we have 2 seniors that that are pregent now my brothers daughter was born when he was 15 and just going to be in the 10th grade.

Now dont get me wrong i am not saying it is bad to have a kid in High school. but it is bad if you are trying to have a kid in High school you have a long life ahead of you you might think life is sucky now. well its going to be your in high school. but just think of it being 18 and having a 2 year old running around haha anyways enough about my thoughts.

What is your thought on Teen pregnancys??

Teen pregnancy. Touchy topic.

For the most part, the only teens I see pregnant are the trashy girls with their trashy boyfriends. I've had plenty of sex and I haven't had any little me's running around. I tend to think that teens who are pregnant are just not smart. You wouldn't be a pregnant teen if you were. There are cases where a condom was used and it happened anyway. I don't mean these people.

This is the number 1 reason that a comprehensive sex education class should be taught in schools at an early age. If these kids are going to have sex, you have to prepare them with good information. You CANNOT teach abstinence and only abstinence like the religious right would like.

My younger sister got pregnant at 15. She is now 20, with three young boys. She takes care of her kids though, just this week she finally got her house.

Personally though, i dont think anyone under the age of sixteen has any business having sex.

I agree with Tim when he says that abstinence programs are doing absolutely no good. But this isn't to speak about teen mothers themselves; I have met some wonderful teen mothers, who are in no way "trashy", and work their asses off to give their kids the best lives they can. Accidents happen, and I would applaud those girls for dealing with what life has dealt them and doing the best they can for those children.

Thank you Le, and if anyone wants to talk about being a teen mom Id be glad to have an intellectual discussion with you. Being one myself I can tell you I am not trashy, or stupid and I have done rather well for myself and my son.

you know, you really can't knock teen pregnancy if you are a teen and you have sex (not YOU referring to anyone specifically). It's easy for us to judge because we aren't the ones who got pregnant, but in all reality, even condoms and BC aren't 100% effective, and sure a lot of the pregnant teens didn't use protection, but some do, and still get pregnant. It's easy for us to look at a 16 year old pregnant chick and think about how dumb she was for not protecting herself, but each situation is different...what if she was raped? Being a pregnant teen has got to be hard, and I imagine it feels something like wearing a scarlet letter. It's sad that it happens, but judging after the fact is not the right thing to do. A lot of girls are changed by being pregnant, and while they might not be fit mothers, many of them will learn to be very quickly, and be great parents as they learn and grow with their child

The thing that pisses me off most about teen pregnancy is that the ones who get pregnant are the ones who run around and fuck anything that moves and thinks they'll be fine. "It's o.k, we pull out, de de de!" Then they wonder why they get pregnant. Another problem is, and it has been mentioned, is that most schools only teach abstinence, the fact is people are gonna fuck, and if they have the right information, they'll be more careful. Our health teacher said the first day of the sex chapter, "I'm suppost to teach abstinence, but since most of you wont listen to that we're mainly going to talk about protection in here."

wellspecialized!!!!my sister is pregnet right now and shes not trashy and nether is her boyfriend and yes shes in high school but accidents happen buddy sorry to tell ya but u need to re think your thoughts there in nothing roung with it!!

I really don't believe in 'accidents' there are so many teenage girls that aren't pregnant out there, b/c they know how to avoid those 'accidents'. I still think that teenagers that are getting pregnant is inexcusable and using the word 'accident is just a stupid excuse.

Well, no birth control method is 100%. There is always a margin for error. Abstinence is the only way to guarantee you won't get pregnant, but if that's not happening (and let's face it--at sixteen it isn't a crime to have sex, and it will happen), there is always a chance of "accidents".

I've taken birth control (the pill) and the condom, and it's actually 99%...and yes there is a margin for error. If you use the birth control the right way as in the pill, you should be taking it at the same time everyday....and certain medications will actually clash with the pill and have it not work.

I don't want to mean any harm of anyone who has sisters are brothers that have gotten pregnant as a teenager, but I hate when they say it was an accident that it happened...it's a bad choice of wording. they should own up and say they were irresponisble for their actions.

I see it a little different...

It's all about education and experience.

Let's look at this from a different angle.
Why do teens have more car accidents??? Because they are new to driving, they have no prior experience, you can't learn to drive from a manual and mistakes are made while you are learning something new.
Now apply the same thing to sex and take away the manual, take away the need for an experienced driver to be with you in bed the first year of learning and just hand them a condom and hope they put it on right.
Sounds like a disaster in the making. Hell, we can just tell them that driving is dangerous and they abstain from driving.... I mean sex, yeah, abstinence

I dont think we can forget, Not all teen Pregnancies are an accident, Many are intentional, Silly girls thinking if they have a baby the man will stay with them or bla bla whatever,

They are the ones that need lessons, And then you have girls who see other teens with babys and think oh its so its so cool, I want a baby.

The rate of accidental teen pregnancy os over-rated because just as often as not is was not an accident, but a hell of a lot easier for them to claim it was.

I just think that teens should be taught the consequences of young sex, and then they should make the choice that they think is correct. I'm fine with teen pregnancy as long as its smart sex.

hmm.. since I just felt like I myself was cut down and called trashy.. I PROBABLY shouldnt comment, but I will.

First, I dropped out of school and started home school (big mistake) then, I got pregnant at 17 and lost the baby. A few weeks later I got pregnant again. I wasnt trashy or a whore. I have slept with VERY few people in my life time and ONLY joe for the last 8 years! When Joe and I found out I was pregnant, we decided to get married. How is that trashy? Granted, my sister was 15 when she got pregnant, but my mom did the BEST she could do. She was a single woman, working 3 jobs and trying to go to college full time. We lived in a trailer park that had murders/rapes, ect a few times. How dare you call anyone trashy.

Granted, I should of used protection, but joe and I felt we were being safe and that was stupid of us. It was a mistake, but I dont regret my child. He is very precious in my life.

Yes, teenage pregnancies are not great. It ruins peoples lives. I wish I had more of a childhood and got to go to college the right way, but it wasnt in the cards for me. They have enough to deal with being pregnant than hearing bullshit like, "she is trashy for getting pregnant". SOME people may be, but NOT all.
