Teach children 911

That's awful. If you teach a child correctly, you will be teaching them that 911 is not to be used in non-emergencies. Even then, 1 call to 911 asking for a cheeseburger can be used as a lesson to prevent it from happening again. Unless they're constantly calling, playing on the phone, it's not a huge issue.

I'd say 8 times out of 10, when I get a juvenile on the phone, they're worried they're going to get in trouble so they don't want to put an adult on the phone. Once I explain to them that they're not in trouble and I just need to speak to their mom or dad, they usually take the phone to them. I always make sure to tell the parents that a lot of kids are scared to bring them the phone, but that their child did the right thing and they should be proud of them.

Good point...they need to feel comfortable making the call..or it may not get made.
