As soon as Sarah Palin was installed as the 'head' of the Tea Party it was quite obvious that Ron Paul's Tea Party had been infiltrated:surrender

what the tea party needs to do is split it's anger between the government AND the corporations.

They've had their cause hijacked and are being used as a propaganda machine for big corporate interests. It's really quite sad if you think about it.

Indeed it is.

What is also sad is apparently the members of this morphed Tea Party don't realize it. If they think Sarah speaks for the idea that was Ron's supporters, well.... :willy_nilly:

In politics, attaining power is the most important goal no matter the method. Tis sad but very human. You were gone? Welcome! :)

Thanks everyone :)

An interesting view from an ordinary science teacher:

An interesting side note and a question for y'all: in Europe, liberals support laissez faire capitalism and as much economic liberty as possible and reduced govt intervention. Does anyone know why liberals in the US don't?

Um, maybe because your liberals want to be liberal (generous) with freedom, and ours want to be liberal with services?

Or .... OR ... maybe liberals have to take the opposite side of conservatives - who want to conserve - and your conservatives want to conserve, hell I don't know, government power (?), and ours want to conserve personal liberty.

OR idea.png ... maybe our liberals want to be liberal with favors to their union contributors, and our conservatives want to conserve their flow of contributions from Wall Street.

I don't know I'm just really confused about that right now...

The thing is, our conservatives ARE liberals..... now I'm really confused....

It might help if you chuck all the labels and look at the individuals. Judge them by their actions rather than the labels.

this is why i like local civic politics, no party affiliation, candidates are held to account for their action not some party line

Tea Party in the U.S. Musings:
"That this was never a movement about taxes or the deficit. It was always a movement about ignorance."
- Bill Maher refering to the U.S. based Tea Party.

What is funny is that Rob Reiner after his appearance on Real Time, is being accused by conservatives of comparing the Tea Party to Hitler. What he actually did was make fun of the political groups who are comparing Obama to Hitler and then said (paraphrased) if you want to invoke the name of Hitler, all Hitler did was sell fear and anger and this is what the Tea Party is doing and he was afraid they would get a charismatic leader who would promote this message.

Huffington Post-Nevada Tea Party Candidate Sharron Angle back tracks from her comments on "2nd Amendment (the right to bear arms) Solutions" on how to solve problems in government. In essence advocating "guns" to achieve solutions. Think about it... Genghis Khan politics. ;)
