An incredible video. Thanks for posting. The truth in this case is simple- the Middle Class powers the economy. The theory of trickle down that the GOP peddles is one of the all time lies foisted on the average citizens to pander to the wealthy in society.

Interesting points he makes. I don't believe we can tax ourselves into prosperity by re-distributing wealth. I have an issue with what defines rich. Someone who make $50 million dollars for acting in one film yeah that sounds rich. Someone who lives in a two family income and barely breaks 6 figures doesn't seem rich. A lot of people in the sports and entertainment business make unreal amounts of money I do not for a moment believe they are job creators (using his term). I do believe many people look at where they are as to when they break the next threshold in taxation. I know I have lost money by getting a raise.

Reads like re-distributing wealth to me. Lower the tax rate on the middle class I can go along with but again where is the middle class defined? I wish dollar amounts were the rule instead of ambiguous terminology.

You too confused or too invested in conservative rhetoric to see the simple truth of Nick Haneuer's argument.

Yup. That's why every time Obama & the dems have the chance, they give money directly to the middle class and never ever ever give money to big corporations with the misguided idea that the money will somehow trickle down to help the middle class.

Right?

The Democrats have never promoted trickle down as a viable economic model. Of course, I'd have to be the one to tell you this...

That's not true, but you wouldn't know this, since you only listen to words and pay no attention at all to actions. Between the Fed, dem congress/Bush admin, and mixed congress/Obama admin, tens of trillions of dollars have been paid out by Washington. How much went directly to "average citizens" and how much went to multinational corporations with the hope it would trickle down and improve the economy?

So you lump favored status for individuals along with favored status for corporations? I distinguish between the two. In some cases giving tax subsides to emerging technologies is a very good idea. What I don't support is continual subsides to industries that don't need the help. It's relative, but if I have no viable alternative, I'd choose the Dems.

BTW, every so often an alternative appears with a chance of winning an election, but absent that you are in the same boat as me, you have to choose too... Who will it be? Romney, if not who? I understand that both parties exceed your threshold of tolerance, but you have to play the hand your dealt or don't play, go live in a cave somewhere far from civilization.

You really should try living in the multi-dimensional world. While allowing yourself only two choices makes things easier, it ignores so much truth, so many facts.

When I see that either of your only choices result in the same thing, then they are false choices. Choosing between false choices is stoooopid. I use my vote to send the message that the lie is unacceptable to me. I don't stay silent, allowing the republocrat machine to interpret it as acceptance. And I certainly don't give positive support and approval to an organization that is moving farther from the American ideal every day by participating in the lie. That is what you do. They say 'here are the only two choices and you respond 'oh, okay'. They say they are different when clearly they complement each other and you respond 'oh, okay'. Then you lie to yourself to make yourself feel better.
