Anyone ever do this to you? It seems more and more common that people are doing this with me now. It really fucking annoys me too.

Here's why.

I'm 6' 0", I'm 23 and I'm a male. My target weight for my height/age is 170-180 lbs. I tip the scales at a massive 135 lbs right now. 35-40 lbs underweight, basically. I was a nine pound newborn (my mom still hates me for it. lol) but when I was 3-5 or so, I got really sick and had some bad infections. I lost all my baby fat and now my metabolism is through the roof. I simply cannot gain weight.

So I walk into this place today that my coworker had put a system in about 4 months ago. Instantly this guy jumps all on me about it.

I always seem to get caught off guard when I'm not standing right next to people, and I just play it off with a smile... but here's how the conversation went:

him: "You still with him?"

me: "yep, for today I am."

him: "Man, you really need to gain some weight... the wind would just blow you away."

I'm like wtf? How the hell did THAT come up, and where the fuck did it come from? My weight problems really aren't any of your concerns, you old fucker.

Gee I didn't know that I'm not exactly the most weighty person!

It's like I'm being judged for the exact opposite reason that most people are judged on; too much weight.

Why do people feel the need to point the obvious out to me? I can't just bitch out a customer, although sometimes I'd REALLY love to.

Maybe he is concerned for your health?

Maybe you are too sensitive about it??

It's quite tough to give you an opinion without it sounding wrong and possibly upetting you more.

Does that make sense??

I mean seriously... isn't that like walking up to an overweight person and going "hey, you're fat... if you went swimming you'd sink like a rock."

People are so goddamn rude and now I'm sitting here bored thinking about it getting very pissed off about it.

My health is none of his concern. and this wasn't an isolated incident.

Give me an opinion... that's what the board is for... But I already know you're going to say something along the lines of "So gain some weight."

Nothing works. I'm not going to take pills and I don't have the time to work out.

"Yeah, you skinny fucker - gain some weight. You're like a walking stick!"

6 months later

"Hey fatass, had burgers for breakfast again? Geez, how many chairs did you break today?"

Yeah...

Some people just have no manners anymore, pretty much that simple.

you have to love thier ability to feel the need to point out the obvious, like you have never heard it before, or well obviously you must be completly unaware,

But I don't get where the problem is? I mean your 6' and 135 lbs, I don't see where that is an issue, But I dunno, maybe it just does not seem that uncommen for me, Here we have lots of tall guys, and most of them are all bone. They are either very tall and thin, or shorter and stout.

Hell used to have a customer, appropriatly named Tree.. He was 7'3 but the man was so thin if he turned sideways and stuck out his tounge you would mistake him for a zipper. .. Many I see over 6' are like that.

You just have to come up with a smartass reply, Me, everyone always tells me to smile, I just look them dead serious in the face and tell them I am smiling, They usually don't comment again, and never know what to say to it anyway.. Which really does make me smile.

I'm 6'5" and I weigh 165 lbs, is that bad? No, I think it's perfect and I could care less about what people think. In my case, I couldn't gain weight even if I wanted to. I've even lost a bunch of weight in the past year because of digestive problems I've had when I was forced to diet. I guess being skinny isn't allowed either :dunno

America reads too much entertainment weekly and people magazine. Now you guys know why I don't give two shits about celebrity's lives, diet fads and fashion bullshit. All it does is create fads and cliche's (imagine the accent over the e) which in turn, allows people to think they can be rude to me.

it'd actually just be easier to go to the character map and copy the forward accent for the big é. But I got lazy.

and I'm supposed to chit chat with my customers, it's called customer relations.

Just tell them you would gain some weight, but then hell none of your clothes would fit, and your job has a strict Dress code about that

You're they type of guy I hate....fugger! LOL!

Seriously, hit the gym and put some weight on them bones. I know, time is a concern but just an hour 2-3 days a week would help. I go 5 days a week but I need to do it for Cardio (to keep losing weight) and weight training. You don't need the Cardio, just go and build them muscles and you WILL put on weight within 4-6 weeks.

Remember MUSCLE is heavy and will put the weight on you.

Yeah but whats your fat percentage number? You LOOK more muscle than fat. You also look like you could survive a winter in the wilderness.
