ESPN has every right to do as it chooses

But this society is so damn PC it is sickening

If you think about the analogy used it was not that awful.

Jr. was not a politician. Just a drunk music guy.

Makes a big difference to me. IMO

In general, I don't think there's anything wrong with society kind of indirectly pressuring people to watch the dumb shit they say (angry people call that being too PC lol) but it backfires, for sure. Instead of thinking about the impact of their words, they think...well what's wrong with saying how I FEEL??? and then go off saying more stupid shit just to prove a point. I dunno.

Kind of reminds me of Rush Limbaugh's short foot-in-mouth tenure with ESPN.

Whenever I think of sports and the wrong thing to say (or at least getting crucified for saying it), I always think of this one

Why do people even bring up freedom of speech in these debates? Don't you guys even understand what freedom of speech means?
His employer or anyone using his image or song can take any action they want against him to protect their image. Freedom of speech doesn't even come into play.
A violation of freedom of speech can ONLY be violated by government. There is no such thing as freedom of speech when it comes to private business. If my employer wants to fire anyone that talks in pig latin, they can.

Now if he was arrested for what he said or the government tried to shut him up, then that would be a violation of his freedom of speech since it was the government doing it.

Just backing this statement up... http://www.firstamendment.com/firstamendment.php. It's a good read for those that are confused on the First Ammendment.

I like Obama, he did some dumb ass things and didn't do some things that made him dumb ass NOT TO DO, but so have I over my life (and will do and not do again)..... But damn, I liked the Monday nite song it was peppy and frankly I didn't care what the singer who wrote it's personal viewpoints were on anything. Kind of like Mel Gibson. Kinda of a Dick in his personal views, but I like his movies........ None of the aforementioned commited genocide so I can live with them all. (Thankfully even myself!) ;)

Re: Talking Bad Aabout Obama

He mentioned two names & didn't indicate which of the two applied to which of the four golfers. Boehner is the German of the group, y'know, and both Hitler and Netanyahu are accused of genocide or genocidal tendencies.

You are missing a smile or a wink but there ya go trying to defend the wrong guy who just happens to be a conservative bafoon... I suppose you actually think he ment Obama was Netanyahu and Boehner was Hitler. Lol. Of course Mr. not-so-bright Williams could just be very poor at making up analogies. I mean yeah that is possible, but why would he pick Netanyahu and Hitler of all people? I assume he was not saying they were both bad, so one had to be "good" and one "bad". The people at Fox and Friends certainly thought he was calling Obama, Hitler. :D

TheBlaze.com:
HANK WILLIAMS: Remember the golf game?
STEVE DOOCY: Boehner?
HANK WILLIAMS: That was one of the biggest political mistakes ever.
CO-HOSTS: Why?
HANK WILLIAMS: That turned a lot of people off. You know, watching, you know, it just didn’t go over.
GRETCHEN CARLSON: You mean when John Boehner played golf with President Obama?
HANK WILLIAMS: Oh, yeah! Yeah. And Biden and Kasich, yeah. Uh-huh.
GRETCHEN CARLSON: What did you not like about it? It seems to be a really pivotal moment for you.
HANK WILLIAMS: Come on. Come on. It would be like Hitler playing golf with Netanyahu, OK?

Would it have been out of line if he had said: "It would be like Ihmadinejad playing golf with Netanyahu".

Is the mention of Hitler what made it wrong for him to say? I actually take more issue with the fact that he used two non-contemporaries rather than who he chose to use in his example. :24:

Did you guys missed the very end when he doubled down on his comment?

The host pointed out that he compared the president to hitler and he said, "Yeah that's true"

So you can't twist it around and say he was referring to someone else or that he misspoke. He just proved that he is an idiot.
To compare the president to hitler is just offensive on so many levels. And anyone willing to do so not only show their ignorance but their blind hatred...

So was it just as offensive when people compared Bush to Hitler? Was that showing ignorance and/or blind hatred? Or is it just offensive to compare Obama to Hitler? What if he compared Obama to Ahmadinejad?

As much as I couldn't stand Bush, it would have been just as wrong to compare him to a mass murderer.

I don't remember Bush being compared to Hitler, not saying it never happened. I mostly focused on his lack of his intelligence vs evilness, although he made incredibly disastrous decisions for the country. Honestly I should be looking at the puppet master standing behind him, you know who. He was responsible for 10's of thousands of useless deaths. You think he can live with that? You bet he can... This is not to say that Obama who campaigned on getting us out is blameless considering it's 3 years later and we are still in.

Obama to Ahmadinejad? That would be a really bad comparison too. Like him or not Obama has morals, Ahmadinejad does not.

Re: Talking Bad Aabout Obama

Only on FOX. Ole Hank doesn't help the image many people have of conservatives as knuckle-dragging-mouth-breathing Neanderthal's. And, as conservatives love to point out - ESPN is a private business - if HWJ doesn't portray the image they are looking for, out he goes. Kind of like Tiger Woods messed up his image with his sponsors.

+1 (my five characters)

Of course you don't recall the comparison. Your filters prevented it. Nice way to cover your arse Minor.

all one has to do is a simple search of the internet or in this case You Tube.
