Suppose this scenario happened....

you are at a casino playing cards and you have been losing and winning but nothing has come your way. The dealer is dealing his cards when you notice this mirror that is actually showing what the dealer has in his/her hand. The pit boss is not noticing this and you are starting to win. soon your pile of chips has increased, you excuse yourself and go to hit the restroom. A fellow gambler at your table is soon following you and he/she says, "Wow, you are doing great! do you think they know about my mirror my friend had?" you finish your business in the restroom and it hits you that all your winnings may be forfeited because this person was cheating. do you go back to the table and collect your things and leave? do you tell security? do you tell anyone at all?

Re: Suppose this sceanrio happened....

Who cares if the winnings get forfeited? They should be. That person was just as guilty of cheating and screwing the system. Of course, if they saw it and DIDN'T cheat, they should say something. Hell, they should confess regardless and hope beyond all reason that they get off with something as simple as a ban from the casino.

Is this based on reality in any way?

I would merely collect my things and leave to be quite honest. It is none of my concern what someone else does so long as it is not harming anyone in a physical manner and since someone is cheating the casino I would rather find it a bit comical as well as ironic. A cheater cheating cheaters. Besides, who am I to report such acts on one when nothing can be done about the tampering of machines by casino owners? In the end...a cheater(s) can never truly prosper. That is merely my own opinion of course.

Tough call. I am sure this has probably happened in a casino somewhere. I don't really gamble so I am not sure as to what I would do. I would like to think that whatever my decision was is to do the right thing.

Re: Suppose this sceanrio happened....

the situation that did happen at the casino was the dealer was paying people even when they had lost on the table. this went on for about six months and the casino was not aware as to what was going on (how could they not with all those cameras on at all times) anyways the dealer was in on it and someone who worked in security must have as well. the sting ended when one of the pit bosses watched the dealer payout for a losing hand and he got suspicious....needless to say the dealer will not be working at that casino again...

Re: Suppose this sceanrio happened....

I'd cash in at quietly and discreetly as possible and get the fuck out of there before anyone notices. If the pit bosses haven't noticed, that the casinos problem imo for not employing a more vigilent pit boss.

do you tell anyone at all?

Depends on a persons moral convictions with reference to honesty.

I'm thinking I would take my dough and walk away chalking my winnings up to getting the right cards at the right time. I wouldn't play that table with that person sitting there after I found out.

I don't really know what I'd do. Part of me is thinking that I'd walk away with the money, but there's a much bigger part thats hoping I'd report it. I think this is one scenario that's best left that way, because as much of a bitch karma may....temptation can be a much bigger one.;)

I like this answer better than my own lol. Sometimes life just hands you a reward. Like 'thanks for sticking with me and not committing suicide, here's a few grand :)'. Or, maybe it's a karma reward.

I doubt a casino would do something like to set you up. It would be stupid for a guy to admit that he was involved with the mirror.

The problem with turning him in is you would then be part of the scheme. They would look at film and determine you too were cheating. They might think you got scared and worried that the guy was trying to trap you.

Tough call. I think I would piss my pants and faint and hope they take me to the hospital where hopefully this would all go away :D
