I told yall about having to take my dog to the ER vet for her leg,

Well its been a bit now, and she still has that evil E-Collar on, But it does not keep her from Licking at it, and its just not being able to heal..

SO.. any suggestions on how to keep an 85lb dog from Licking??

And FYI.. it takes 3 to hold her down to even touch her leg..

there just seems there should be someway to get her to leave it alone. :confused

could always have the vet give you one of those great big cone coller thingies to go on her head...like what they give to keep them from licking when they get fixed...they gave that to my uncles dog

She just has a spot she wont stop licking, and she has it raw.. Had her antibiotics for the swelling which is gone, and she doesnt favor it.. no pain.. she just wont stop licking this spot so it can heal

she gave my lab a steroid shot to stop the itching-- it was too the point where Vegas had a total bald spot on like his "ankle bone"... neosporin works.. but dont bother if the dog will just lick it...

i seriously doubt this will help...but this is what i used on Kodi instead of an E collar.

another thing you might want to try...there is this stuff called Bitter Apple, youc an spray it on things you dont want your dog to lick or chew on...this works on MOST dogs but some actually like the flavor, so its not fool proof. It just basically makes anything taste nasty to the dog so they wont lick it. you can get it at pretty much any pet store. hope that helps!!!

Hmm, Yeah we tried the Neosporin, and they had steroids.. But the licking is a stress issue.. Im starting to think Duct tape..lol

Thanks for asking Heather.
