Stupid neighbor!!

Animal Control just came by because Dora (our old neighbor lady) called them about our 2 dogs (on something that they didnt even do). I know they didnt because 1 dog stays inside and the other one is on a chain 24/7. I got a citation written to me for "animal nuiscance". Cause she's convinced that the dogs dug up her french drain pipe in her yard. Animal Control was very nice but now I have to go to court!!! She told him that she wanted him to take the dogs away and he said he cant cause there is no proof that the dogs did it and besides even if they did, they didnt bite anyone or harm anyone. He was in his truck writing me a citation over here in our yard when Dora and her brother walked over here and she starts crying REAL loud and yelling at him and her brother starts yelling real loud (I guess so I could hear) "If people would just take care of their dogs!" What the heck does that mean? Those dogs are taken care of. Animal Contol told me that her brother told him that he is fixing to go back to his house and get his gun and kill the dogs. He told him if he did that, he and Dora will be arrested and in some big trouble. He told me just FYI.....keep a close eye for them because they are just convinced that your dogs did it and are very mad.
We have had trouble with this lady SO much for the past year. We have lived next door to her for 8 yrs and NEVER had any trouble at all from her.

oh man! sounds like some of her bats flew out of the cave...maybe she saw a dog do it and just assumed it was one of yours? Did animal control say anything about your dog being out on a chain??

He said that us being out in the county that there is no leash law so they can run free if they wanted. But we're gonna keep her on the chain. Just to keep her from bitching anymore than she already does.

hmm. have you tried the electronic collars? you basically get an electronic pulse going around the perimeter of your yard, and your dog wears the collar that responds to it. It gives them a quick shock, just enough to make them back up...but it's not harmful or really painful to them. It teaches them to stay within their area, that way he wouldn't have to be kept on a chain anymore. I've heard of so many dogs choking on those chains or getting them wrapped around a tree too tight

So you and your dogs are GUILTY UNTIL PROVEN INNOCENT? If they thought you yourself did it the police couldn't arrest you or cite you unless there was a witness or proof.

Guess Ive never heard of those before. I'll mention it to my husband when he gets home from work and see what he thinks about it. I hate that she stays on the chain cause she is just a little over a yr old. She is the one we almost lost to a heat stroke last summer.

That sucks. It will most likely be thrown out of court though, since there is no proof.

That would be nice. Someone was telling me a little bit ago that they are thinking that if we plead not guilty that we will have a trial. Im like oh great!!
Im tempted to press harrassement charges on her because of all the shit she has put us thru the past year. She wants this place and property back so she is doing everything in her power to piss us off enough to move. She even told my husband just last week that if we decided to ever sell this place that she wants first dibs on it.
