I can't stand strong perfume, it gets up my nose and makes me sneeze and I hate to sneeze, my eyes water and that makes my mascara run
I just think that with all the problems associated with todays youth, perfume seems so trivial. The girl should have been taken aside and told that it was not allowed....and that should've been that.
Alot of people react to perfumes in different ways...with being around possibly hundreds of kids...she may have had an effect on several..it was strong enough to bring attention anyway.
I totally agree...a simple verbal warning should have sufficed..with reason stated that it can cause breathing problems etc for many

What kind of outcome Tommy? Would you really leave?
there was some insulting talk today that erupted around peter's little foray here that got me infracted. if the two offending parties were not infracted back, i would have left.

the censorship here is already somewhat inhibiting and i won't stand by while i get punished for trivial offenses and others get away with doing the same or worse to me.

one of the parties was infracted; the other still may be and if not, certainly he had best watch his sassy mouth around me in the future.

What got to me is WHY she did it, I hope that was addressed as well.

I do hope that you shall not leave over a simple matter that was merely trivial at best. Though I do not believe in the censorship of others...I do see why it is used at times. All one can do is simply move on in a sense from this matter and continue to be true to themselves as well as their own beliefs. However, I can respect your decision to leave because no one should remain here if he/she feels uncomfortable with some of the users or mods here. I wish you well either way, TommyTooter.

Now...back to the thread topic at hand...

taken by itself it barely qualifies as trivial. against the bigger picture, not so and it would have provided the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back had nobody besides me been infracted.

too much censorship for my taste and the 'rules' enforced in such a way that it gives an unfair advantage to more experienced passive/aggressive members over their targets. i'm still not satisfied with how they are responding to my complaint.

as it is, this domain is not suitable to my purposes as a home base to compose my postings from. too young and disaffected a crowd with little or no interest in the topics i cover. it is only that people like you and sadie far outnumber people like peter and dark angel that keep me here at all.

I believe it is trivial because it only leads to senseless arguing over things that are rather mundane. Though I see where you are coming from as well. One can not always keep calm when faced with the same ignorance time and time again. I suppose that is just part of being human, but I still believe that one must learn that pouring gasoline on an argument only fuels the fire between the users until someone gets burned...or infracted as it would seem to be in your case. We can only play with the cards we are dealt with for the time being. Eventually, a better dealer (mod) or hand (advantage) shall come along. Though I am sure we can move past this and be better people for doing so overall.

not quite, the kid was fat, dumb and ugly and so is her mother. i can only imagine the level of cruelty that was prelude to taking a bath in cheap perfume.
I just watched the video and it appears as if there was some teasing going on before hand..which had her begin to wear the perfume...Perhaps she also was receiving the same labels you are placing on her.

I doubt if her or her mother will ever read this but if they do.my official stance is below

I feel for them and am 100 percent on their side.
While the perfume may have been objectionable it was wore to appease others.

I had originally thought this was just a random case in the beginning..but it turns out it all began with some rude ass kids..probably the same brats that complained about the perfume

:sarcasm

Thank you for giving all of us a brief insight to your words of "wisdom", Peter Parka. Bravo, indeed. :clap

Now I am sure you can get rid of the paper with your thoughts written in crayon so you did not forget what to type and proceed to stick to the topic. I am sure you know what a topic is though...

...with all due respect of course.

You know, for someone who thinks it's immature to keep argueing, you sure do harp on about an argument which has nothing to do with you, a lot.

I make it my business when you tend to make what I do your business. Besides, I only wish to get back to the topic and stop senseless arguments between two users that I would consider to be decent people in real life. You seem to have a problem with it. I respect your opinion on that as well, but please...

...respect the fact that I shall speak my mind on whatever issue I see fit to respond to so long as it is on the threads. If you do not like it then perhaps you can take the whole argument to a more private place. Hmmm...I suppose that is what PMs are for nowadays. Intriguing.

Yes, you've been kind of saying that for at least the last couple opf pages. Personally I casn see that wearing perfume too much can be a problem, some people are alergic but discression is always the best option, now whats your opinion or do you still want to keep harping on about an argument which finnished yesterday?

So long as you are done venting your frustrations at TommyTooter on the threads. As I said...just take it somewhere else. Other than that, I do not mind an "internet" cease fire. :D

Anyways...

...I never liked the excessive use of perfume or cologne. I, personally, found it a bit annoying and hard to breath since I have a slight case of Asthma. I never knew why people wore so much though. It would be easier just to shower and use soap/shampoo that leaves an after smell in a sense.

i wasn't placing labels -- just reporting what i saw. i'll cop to exaggerating the fat, ugly and stupid some, but that's what the story and responses i was seeing were screaming at me.

i was overweight as a kid, wore glasses and am jewish. i had to fight a lot because of it.

maybe i'm biased because of personal experience, but i think you are softpedaling by saying there was some teasing going on. my read is that the girl was being tormented daily.
