Ok its simple, just pick it up where the last post left off!!! Be creative, and let’s keep it on task!

With a single solid drag he, breaths new life into his withering cigarette. This man, a symbol of modern nobility born of poverty, glairs into the distance, and with a mutter says, "there’s smoke on the horizon", these five words spoken no louder than a butterflies whisper echo like thunder amongst the horde of loyal men that stand frightenly eager at his back. As he turns to face them, the wind almost knowingly blows the hair out of his face, as to have a clear view of the men that have followed him so far, with one deep and powerful breath he says...............

Let’s see what you'v got!!!!

"It will not be easy this that I ask of you all."

His words ring out raspy as though choking on the smoke from the cigarette now burning dangerously close to his fingers. Almost dream-like he senses a movement throughout the gathered followers. They lean in to take in his strength and forceful being.

Unaware that even he feels an urgent need from these very men who will risk their lives at his beckoning, he pauses to take a last long hot drag on the cigarette and expertly flicks it away. No one moves. All await whatever command is given.

In the distance comes the sound of thundering hooves tearing up the earth as they bear down upon their destination. He looks at the eyes of his men and.......

Screams, "This is our destiny boys, embrace it, its yours, Never again will these tyrants forget our voices, make them feel the same pain that has stricken your children’s belly's" as he turns to face the on coming doom! He can’t help but turn to his memory and see the look on his own child’s face, when 5 men held him to the ground as they drove their swords through his sons fragile body!

As their heads begin to break over the hill at the front He makes his orders loud and bold, "Steady"!!! The earth now trembling and turned to dust by the hooves of ten thousand elite riders. "Now its our time, you will never defeat us, even if you kill us all, our passion will live on, who are you to think that you can snuff the dreams of a proud people" he thought to him self as the riders grew nearer. "Show them your pain, show them the same courtesy that they gave you, give them no mercy", now with a single deafening roar he give his orders!

"Do not let a single one of them leave this field, this is where they will lay, unnamed, disgraced, and burning with shame! This is our one shining moment, make it blind them!" with a cheer of acknowledgment his brave warriors scream loud enough to wake the gods from their eternal slumber! For this is a moment that not even they can ignore!.......

Blood sprays and men fall, Once mighty men, men of honor and of dignity. The mighty warriors make their way forth, maming, wounding and killing, making sure not one is left with an once of fight as they gain territory on the ones before them.

The Air Once clear and crisp now stained with the smell of bloody corpses that lay behind the raged men, onward and onward they fight, pushing back any remains of anything this country had ever offered them.

*THUD* One of the horses hit the ground, the man draws him arm to lay to rest the solider before him, the cries of the solider make him hesitant.... its not the voice of a man but that of a a young man barely a teen........

Flushed with the sound of his own sons screams, he stops! Modified by the thought of taking another father’s son, he drops to his knees, with a long a steady glance, he strafes the battle field, and finds that he has inadvertently became one of the men that he swore to reap! The blood from yet another victim sprays his face!

"By the Gods,.... what have I done?" his head as if suddenly weak with fever drops, ashamed of the man that he has become, he glairs onto the moist red mud in horror. As his warriors vengefully carryout their orders, the horn of their enemies defeat bounces off the hills in rapid succession as to further add insult! A man yells to his comrades "he’s down, the commander is down!……………..

With great heaviness and a new resolve slowly growing from within, the commander forces himself to stand. The young enemy still poised with arms hiding his head in dreadful fear awaiting the final blow of death from this giant of a man that now stands above him.

Slowly, the others notice their leader, unsure of what is happening. All take in the scene with an astonished confusion. The commander has held out his hand to the enemy on the ground. Even the young enemy is frozen with this unknown turn of events. The two lock eyes. Slowly, the young man brings his hand towards the giant above him, only to find his hand firmly grasped as he is effortlessly brought to his own feet to stand but inches from his captor.

"Do not have fear," bellows the leader.

The cries of the wounded and dying echo......

Against the bitter cold November air, the eyes of the child meet with the eyes of our fearless leader. "Remove your helm soldier" the commander demands! The child’s helm hits the ground, the sound of the blood soaked helm rings like the bells of Notre Dam! The confusing that swept the battle field has brought the combat to a halt, as all eyes bothe friend and foe lock gaze at our commander and what should be another of his victims!

The silence was long and bursting with anticipation! With an elegant calm he asks, "Name age and rank solder?" "William Rage, lieutenant first class of the imperial elite, and I'm 17 years old sir!"

"William Rage you say! Who is your father?" "I don’t know sir, he was killed when I was just a boy." His heart now sank to the deepest regions of his bowls, my sons name was William, William Rage!!!, this cannot be, I watched them slay my boy!" With a harsh anger in his voice he demands "What is the name of your father, where did he come from!"

"His name was Thomas, Thomas Rage, he lived and died in the north lands, I’ve been told that he was a great and noble man, although I never had a chance to know him." William proclaim with a distinct pride in his voice!.......DestroyerDave

What play of fate is this Thomas thought as the shock settled deep into his very soul. His large calloused hands flew to his face as the realization of what very well could have happened overtook his emotions.

Slowly he lowered his hands and stared into the eyes of his very own flesh and blood. The eyes looking back were a mirror of his own. He pulled the boy to his chest in a grip so strong it forced the very air from both their lungs.

"My son....," was all Thomas managed. He released the grip and held the boy at arm's length to study him some more.

William was disoriented for several long moments. He studied the lines on the face of this giant leader as recognition slowly came to him.

"Father? Father!," William again threw himself into the giant leader's arms and sobbed.

Father and son stood reunited among the stench of death and gun powder. Both oblivious to the growing crowd of men pushing closer to see and hear.

Whispers flutter amongst the men as the rumor grows to astounding proportions. "Son" the men say with confusion swirling about! "His son was killed, that’s why he joined the movement. What this mean?" As the truth of Williams death is flushed away in this flood of emotion.

'How can this be, I watched them take your life, I was told they found the body, and that you were given a noble funeral while I lay near death in my hospital bed." Thomas exclaimed with shock.

William pulled in a ragged breath and attempted to speak. He cleared his throat a few times all the while searching the faces of valiant men that now were locked on he and his father.

A flask appeared from his left. William automatically took it and drank the warm water to bathe his parched throat. Water spilled down his chin leaving trails in the caked dirt that hid his smooth gentle face.

William began to speak. Not a soft scared voice of his tender years, but a firm and determined voice that nearly matched his own father's. He spoke of the attack on their village that day which was as clear as if it had been yesterday. At some point he felt his father's hand gently rest upon his shoulder and it gave him strength to go on with his recollection of that awful day and the many days that followed.

No one spoke while William told the story he had for so long held inside. The wind picked up and swirled around the group of soldiers. Some were forced to pull their coats closed as the first breath of winter came upon them warning of its arrival shortly in the days ahead.

The man then says, "Do you mind if I tell you a story?"

I reply that I would not mind, and he beings his story. It went something like this.

Now, this is a story all about how
My life got flipped-turned upside down
And I liked to take a minute
Just sit right there
I'll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel Air

In west Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground was where I spent most of my days
Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
And all shootin some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys
Who were up to no good
Startin making trouble in my neighborhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
She said 'You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air'

I begged and pleaded with her day after day
But she packed my suite case and send me on my way
She gave me a kiss and then she gave me my ticket.
I put my walkman on and said, 'I might as well kick it'.

First class, yo this is bad
Drinking orange juice out of a champagne glass.
Is this what the people of Bel-Air Living like?
Hmmmmm this might be alright.

But wait I hear there're prissy, wine all that
Is Bel-Air the type of place they send this cool cat?
I don't think sow
I'll see when I get there
I hope they're prepared for the prince of Bel-Air

Well, the plane landed and when I came out
There was a dude who looked like a cop standing there with my name out
I ain't trying to get arrested
I just got here
I sprang with the quickness like lightening, disappeared

I whistled for a cab and when it came near
The license plate said fresh and it had dice in the mirror
If anything I can say this cab is rare
But I thought 'Now forget it' - 'Yo homes to Bel Air'

I pulled up to the house about 7 or 8
And I yelled to the cabbie 'Yo homes smell ya later'
I looked at my kingdom
I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the Prince of Bel Air

Yes... a lovely touch too....

I'm still wondering what the hell a battle ground and a mansion in Bev Hills have to do with each other.... but hey.... this could become a fantasy story.....

A few weeks now have past, the blistering winter cold never lets us forget the sacrifice we are making! Our fearless Commander Rage keeps us company as often as he can. However in the conditions we are forced to live some times we can’t help but think of how nice it would be leave. The constant temptation of home is for many men to hard to resist!
Some 400 men have left now, assumable to go home. They are not pursued, Thomas and his second William will give no such order. Thomas angry with the rumors and the degration stands and says, "Do not ridicule the men who have left us, they are not bad men, if they so desire to be with the ones they love then so be it. And if anyone els wants to leave then say so now, and we will supply you with the provisions required to get home. I have told you men time and time again that this is not your obligation. This is your future, make the choice, if you prefer tyranny then do not stand against yourself, tell me that you are leaving and we will let you go."

And that is how it was, he never obligated us, he asked us for our aid, if we did not give it then that was that, no grudge required! With the news of our victory in the black hills it seemed like our cause had reached global proportions, and with every seasoned soldier lost to there lack of conviction, it seemed that there were 2 more recruits searching for our base camp! When we realized that people were beginning to open there eyes and see the world for what it was, we realized that this may very well become possible. We can do this, just over that horizon exists a new beginning, a new and fantastic world was waiting, all we need do is take it, save it from the claws of a dictator!.......DestroyerDave
