What side do you choose? I am prepared to argue that we should be using stem cells, if your willing. So if anyone is against it let me try and convince you otherwise, if not great, if you truly believ you can convince me otherwise go ahead and try, if you'd rather not be convinced do reply.

Assume I'm 100% against it. Convince me.

The stem cells that we get are from parents who wanted to have children but, could not because of mutations in the genes, etc. So the sperm and the eggs went into a lab and were combined and frozen. The unfrozen ones were sent back to the doctor, who would implant them into the women. The frozen "embryos" stay frozen in the bank and the couple pays a monthly fee to keep them there. So there is a few hundred sitting there, and the couple tries for one more and then their done. What happens to the hundreds more of frozen embryos? The couple can decide to keep paying the fee forever, simply destroying them, or donating them to science. So we wouldn't be getting mother pregnant just to tear some baby from her, to destroy by making stem cells to save hundreds--even thousands of dieing children and young adults. They have even found ways to extract the cells without harming the embryo.

Ok, so we did clone an embryo in a non-federally funded lab. Let me tell you something this I can agree could become a huge ethical problem/issue There is NO POSSIBLE WAY to prevent this from happening either than trusting scientists not to do it, we ban it in america, they go to canada, we ban it there, england, we ban it there, france (Let me tell you in france they don't ever ban stuff... either then stupid Americans of course), my point is they could of hidden science labs in the middle of Siberia by now. We have no idea :dunno who know maybe in Czech Republic they have 500 practice clones growing... the point is that we can't stop them if they REALLY want to do it. I mean why do we care so much, cloning vs. stem cells= completely different anyway...

I didn't mean why do we care in the way you think, I just mean it doesn't have much to do with stem cells. I am against cloning humans, changing the genetic make-up of a twig to make it into food for 3rd world country, that I am for.

Take a deep breath....Deep cleansing breath:D

Gi Gi and I both understand they are different issues. Besides, we already proved that the Bush administration can stop mobile labs by invading a major city:p So that will fix that.

I have no issue with stem cell research as long as harvesting is ethical, and the science is put to good use.
