7% is high right now. With good credit you should be able to get under 6% if you look around. That's what I'm finding at least

thats the way it is here.. every month the minumal is higher.. hell 6 months ago it was I50,000. now its 200,000.

that i just need to rent. My credit isnt great due to med bills

James your doing just fine i was at around 8.5% and a few years later went to a 15 year fixed at just under 6% and by sending a little extra every month we had the house paid off in 14 years.
