Yep, manifestation sounds like cause to me. Ok, let me re-phrase for you people. Stress may be a factor in the weakening of the body in order for cancer to destroy the body without proper defense, however, it is in no way the CAUSE of cancer. I just did a simple search on google and found tons of information supporting my hypothesis. Go figure.

Oddly enough, who cares? I sure don't.

I hope you have something worth-while to bet because it appears I am wiser than you and I didn't study cancer. So, unless you have finally found that stress does in fact cause cancer, then STFU, because no one can say that.

woah, calm down. if you'd read her posts you'd know she's just being sarcastic. people are researching that unrelieved stress might lead to cancer. suppression isn't good for you either way. you're not going to find any sites that explicitly say stress causes cancer, because it's still under research. but if you can find a reliable source that has scientifically proven suppressed stress doesn't cause cancer, i'd like to see it.

and it's YOU'RE dead to me, not YOUR. see "your" implies that someone owns "dead to me", which simply isn't the case. so STFU, noob.

My two cents: stress can accelerate cancer and leave the immune system less protective of your body as stress causes your organs to strain somewhat and work in somewhat of an abnormal way. But I don't see just by being stressed that that would be the sole cause of cancer; there would have to be a main cause of the cancer occurring.

I personally like to say, "You're dead to me now" or "you're all dead to me now!" :D

Awesome, a place we can shoot this shit without whoring up someone's thread. You know what though memento? I can't even hate on you because you sometimes make me laugh. I really do not know what OTz would do without the Chief of the Grammar Police though.

sometimes i think about running around the forum, fixing people's spelling, but then i'd come off as a dick, and once i mispell something a torrent of posters will crash down on me to bitch me out.

All this repressed stress is going to give you cancer.

that depends, are you going to be a dick about the whole situation or are you going to admit that MAYBE, just maybe, this woman has experienced stress and guilt that she could not deal with and that it is on a completely different level than the office chumps that deal with the photocopiers?

I will absolutely admit that her stress is no where near the same level as office chumps doing anything. (I never compared the two).

However, I have learned from a liberal President to never, I repeat, never admit to anything until they hold impeachment hearings.

I doubt there's someone more stressed than me on this planet, yet I don't have any cancer (that I know of) but it's because I'm used to stress and I even think I like it... my life seems boring when all goes well.
I never wanted to imply that stress -> cancer, just for some people it seems it's an aggravating or accelerating cause. About my mother, it's more the feeling of guilt and her absolute lack of power to stop this guy she saw sexually abusing a child (who's still a teacher, by the way). She HAD to react, and when you can't do it externally, maybe the reaction happens inside.
And again, if there are scientific studies being done right now on the influence of stress over cancer, it's because it's not that ridiculous.

Again, my wishes go out to you, your mother and your family for a successful battle against her cancer. I never meant to belittle that fact.

I just think they are reaching because they can't cure cancer so why not try to find every possible cause? I think its a ridiculous reach, thats all I'm saying. I'm sure they will say that cancer causes cancer sooner or later.
