omg...that means all you people in my internet world are part of my soulmates circle.... that means Peter, PJ and Dana were all married at one point in time. That explains the love they have for each other. wow it all makes sense now.:tooth

I'm boring, I don't have a way of believing souls exist, but I do think some people can just be so right for each other. I don't think that connection is limited to just one person per life time, though.

x2

something of substance.

I believe there are people that we are more suited to than others :) I don't believe there's just one person like that, but I do think you can't make a soulmate out of someone who isn't quite right for you.

The true definition of a soul mate is one you have spent many lifetimes with. They may not necessarily be your lover/partner in those lives...they may be your mother or best friend.
I cringe when I hear someone say about someone they have just met..."Oh, he's/she's my soulmate".

This! :shesaid

Friends, lovers - is there a distinction between soulmates for such?

If we dissect the word, to use the colloquial - then mate could be used in friendship terms or the more traditional non-colloquial lover/partner sense.

In the colloquial, I do believe soul mates exist that transcend gender/age. In the non-colloquial, my heart would like to believe that such exists but my mind says otherwise. I guess that I could just be basing that from my own bitter experience.

I believe in soul mates, however (like others have stated), I do not believe that there is only one out there for everyone. I think we are drawn to certain people at certain points in our lives that are meant to have some sort of impact, or be some sort of guide through a dark time.

I definitely feel like there are some people in my life who I have known a lot longer than it is physically possible for me to have known someone. I've always kind of thought that multiple lives and a long past seems more likely than one opportunity here on Earth.
