Sorry but no!

So we just bought a new trailer for our camp at the lake. its a FEMA trailer, not new but new to us. the one we had was a POS 1970's model that was about 20ft long and 6ft wide with plywood on windows and duct tape, cookie sheets and ducktape holding some of the bathroom floor together, things crawled on you at night sometimes. yeah you get the picture.....it was bad and definitely in need of a new one!

ANYWAY.....its being delivered to the lake tomorrow. Hubby has 10 days off (1st time in 2 1/2 months of working 7/12's) his vacation started last week. He's been up at the camp since thursday cutting trees, stump griding, clearing debris, disconnecting everything adn moving out the old trailer in preparation for the new one tomorrow. delivering it, leveling it, rebuilding the porch and connecting it will take all day probably cause its suppose to rain. me and jace are heading up there sometime late tomorrow. Wednesday will be the day of cleaning it and setting the inside up, thursday we'll be driving back down this way to go to my grandparents for thanksgiving, then we'll drive back up (its a 2 hour drive one way) to stay for the remainder of his vacation time. so friday will be the 1st real day of spending real quality time with him in almost 3 months!! its very much needed!!

WITH ALL THAT SAID.......i just read on brother in law's fiance's FB that they might be going to the lake sometime this week. (meaning staying with us) normally i'd have no problem with that BUT, you read what i just typed in the 2nd paragraph right!? OK! that and there's no where for them to sleep! remember, this is the one thats almost 9 months pregnant and already has a almost 2 yr old. the trailer is 2 bedrooms. our bedroom has a double bed, the other has bunk beds with no mattresses. the one Jace will be sleeping in will be cushioned with sleeping bags and thick blankets till we can get mattresses! there's also NO couch, table or chair. we're furnishing it with used stuff at a later date. again....NO WHERE for them to stay!

Is it wrong that i commented on her FB that i prefered them not to go!?

Nope. It is not wrong. You and your hubby and your child need time to be together at this place. You did the right thing.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE the holidays and seeing family BUT it needs to be on comfortable grounds for ALL parties. It's stuff like this that muddies the water and creates ambivalence further on down the road.

Good on you for nipping it in the bud. :D

ok good! i felt bad for telling her no cause brother in law went up there for 3 days and helped hubby. its their grandparents land/camp so its really free for all, but the only people who ever go up there are me, hubby and Jace. been that way for the past 6 years! we take care of the land, hubby pays the utilities, we do the upkeep. we're just waiting for grandparents to turn it ALL over to hubby. now that we bought a trailer and put it on the land, i hope it happens sooner

Thats's rude to invite themselves without even asking you. Board casting it on Fb to guilt you to accept and deal: is even wore...

I'd tell them point blank "That's not how to secure a spot as a guest, if you show up, I will not unlock the door to let you in."

I hate to be a downer, but have y'all heard about all the health problems w/the FEMA trailers and formaldehyde?

If while y'all are staying in it and you start getting sick - head colds, sinus, etc, that may be the cause.

I hope the one you bought is ok.
