Yeah, I get that. Still, I hate, hate, hate, hate others making plans for me when I didn't have any part of them.

I agree that Fred's example is much worse and I would be pissed. Even so, I feel like I run every little decision by her yet don't get the same respect at times.

My wife finally got the message after she attended some social engagements by herself.

I think my wife was feeling me out by forwarding it to me.
Since my response was "When is this happening?"
Instead of "Well Hell No!"

Then she knows I would be ok with it.

Wow Fred that is just messed up so what did your wife say?

I'll find out later. This woman lost her husband a little over a year ago. For a while I thought I had a second wife. She called me with a lot of things her husband used to handle for her. I'm not talking sexually either. That would not happen ever.

Oh humps, you have no idea how many i have bailed out on.

This happened way too much during the UNC bball season....specifically the tourney.

"We're going out with this other couple on Saturday night."

"Um, no. My favorite team in the world is playing their most important game of the season that night."

I skip it. She goes alone. Two weeks later.

My friend: "Where were you? Your wife came, but you didn't show up? What is that about? Blah blah blah." And I get to put up with their BS for the rest of the night about how I don't "hang out" anymore, all because she didn't think to check with me about my availability

I may have told you this story, but these particular friends invited themselves over to my house during the UNC/Duke game last season. So, in between their conversations in the living room about TLC and the latest Gossip Girl episodes, I tried to watch some of the game.

I remember that boot.

I think many of my wife's old friends realize I don't care for them, so I don't have any of them giving me a hard time about not showing. My wife will still see them from time to time, but I never go.

My wife likes to entertain. She invited my in-laws over for the Super Bowl. I like my in-laws but they talked through God Bless America and the National Anthem. They finally settled down once the game started. I like to hear the national anthem.

Yall have a good point. If it weren't for the women, plans wouldn't get made most of the time. I do appreciate that much and I'm grateful for it. However, I just liked to be asked about my opinion before someone tells me what I'm doing.

My wife is pretty good about not committing me to things.

My wife committed me and my truck to helping one of her friends move right afer we got married without telling me. She took the truck and helped her move and I played golf.

thats just odd in my opinion, I never make any plans without consulting my husband first, its kind of a respect issue I think because I sure as hell wouldnt like it if he did it to me
