Some people.......

Okay, so we went to the theatre tonight to see Devils Rejects. the movie was pretty damn good if you like that kind of flick, but anyways. A black family walks in just as the movie is about to start. When I say family I mean mom, dad, 3 kids an uncle and an aunt. Okay the kids werent like 12-13 or anything they had to range between 6-8. I dont think they really had any idea what they were fixin to see so I can understand why they might have brought them along to begin with but they STAYED!!! They let those little kids watch the WHOLE DAMN THING!!! If any of you saw House of 1000 Corpses than you know what Im talkin about. The opening seen had boobars and cooter in it and they STAYED!!! If you went to a movie with your little kids just thinking it was a scary movie and it turned out to be something like this, would you have stayed or left. I would have left. I dont want my kids watching shit like that. I mean, its not like it wasnt already rated R. Hell, they even had attendants outside the door making sure no kids without parents snuck in with a ticket to another show. That should have told them something right there.

nah attendants can't do anything. it's parental discretion.

Honestly, good for them They're exposing them to the real world unlike my aunt who's shelted my cousin to no end.

He had to go home from his little "vacation" here because he got strep throat.

My aunt emailed everyone and said she thought it was best he come home since "strep throat might have spread to his heart".

Hows that for sheltering via ignorance?

I dont have any problem letting my kids watch "scary" movies but this one was, IMO, a little much for a 6 year old. I know that the attendant couldnt stop them from bringing thier kids in there but it could have been some kind of forwarning to how violent the movie might be.

*edit* There is a fine line between "sheltering" and "experiencing life". I would have said the same thing when I was single and only had opinions on how I thought I would raise my kids. But things change when you finally do have kids and you realize for the first time what true innocence is and that its up to you to try to preserve that for as long as possible.

The movie was AWESOME!!! That is if youre into that kind of movie. Im a real fan of Rob Zombie. I liked it alot better than 1000 corpses. I would reccomend it to anyone who is into slasher flicks. It will have you back and forth between rooting for the bad guys then the good guys and the ending will have you on the edge of your seat. Alot of people got up to leave as soon as the last song started playing and TOTALY missed the real ending. You have to stay till the credits start to roll to see the ending.

But what would I do if I let them watch that movie then when they go back to school and they start telling their teachers what all they did over the summer and she says,"Oh yeah and I saw this really scary movie and it had boobies and private parts in it and they was killing people." I do believe I would get a letter sent home and probably DHS coming to have a little chat with us. That age range does not need to know stuff like that at such a young age.
