Try a salvage yard? We got a quote from a garage to replace our indicator stalk and it was something like £140 to do it. We went to a salvage yard, found another Ford and paid £10 for the stalk, and my boyfriend fitted it himself. If you can do something similar, it could save him some money.

Up to him of course, you just never know, and it'd sure as hell beat paying £400 for a bumper he might be able to find for cheap. The car we got ours from had been wiped out at the back in an accident, but everything in the front was in perfectly good condition.
