Some parents just irk my chain!

I swear, one day, I will be a parent in the school zone beating the complete utter shit out of another.

Ever since Michael started kindergarten last year there has been an issue with parents not being able to read a simple sign, well actually two signs, that say no stopping, standing, or parking between signs. Now this I find embarrassing for their child because aren't we sending kids to school to learn to read and etc.?

There's also an on going issue with people speeding through school zones. HELLO?! Is it really that hard to slow down to 15 mph for about two blocks?! Hell no it's not.

Oh and then there's the lovely freaking dumbasses who just don't pay attention going through the school zone. Whether they are going the speed limit or not there's always one right?

I was dropping the boys off this morning and low and behold one of the parents who, not only, can't read the signs on where to stop her car to let out kids, she also can't see a kid walking across the street IN THE CROSS WALK!

Now this lady is snooty with me ever since last year when I told her to learn how to read the signs. So this lady, as she's about to hit the kid, starts waving at me and saying hi. Of course my natural reaction was PAY ATTENTION, while she was in the middle of waving. I also proceeded to tell her she about hit a kid! She screams back, I didn't see him! And so I repeat PAY ATTENTION. This sad sad person then tells me to fuck off! BWAHAHAHA

I love that, she did the dumb and wrong thing, I point it out, and she tells me to fuck off.

Oh I have an undying love for pathetic people.

It's sad isn't it?

A good friend of mine who is 46 years old only has one child, who is in kindergarten. He was bemoaning the fact when kids leave school they are excited and glad to see their parents and come running out of school to meet their parents only to be shushed so the parents can continue their conversation on their cellphone. I agree with him I feel sorry for the kid. Later in life the parents will wonder why their children do not confide in them.

Last year we had a child that was killed while in a school crossing zone. The guard was seriously injured and will never go back to being a crossing guard.

I'm not sure why people see a school crossing and insist on speeding up. We don't have enough traffic enforcement to protect our most valuable loved ones. It shouldn't be a war zone crossing to get a decent education at no matter what age.

I mean it's just as bad on college campuses here, too.

in my neighobourhood we have a lot of elementary schools - most of the kids, from what i read in local press live no more than 2 km ( a little over 1 mile - 1.2 to be exact) lots of paretn sdecide to drive kids to school, despite buses being available, i ask why a kid cannot walk , we are talking max 20 min walk

that alone would cut down on the traffic congestion and road rage that exists

When I moved to NY was the first time I ever saw a No Standing sign and it was at a bus stop. I thought it meant that you couldn't stand there while waiting for the bus. :surrenderI asked my friend why you couldn't stand at a bus stop. She laughed at me! :( I had no idea it meant that you couldn't be parked there in a car.

We have a school zone here that the regular speed limit is 60 MPH and drops down to 15 MPH when you enter the active school zone. I have yet to see anyone slow down to the 15. They get to 30 and people wind up honking at them for going too slow. I've also seen people pass school buses when they have their stop sign out and are letting kids off the bus.

We've got some crazies here!

People ride me in school zones all the time. That's fine, folks. You get frustrated, you get pissy, you fly past me just as soon as you can, but I'm not going 1 mph over the speed limit. Deal with it.

And I still maintain people should have to have permits to have children.

do yall not have the "no cell phones in school zones" rule yet!?

My kid's school is in the middle of nowhere and people drive like lunatics, so I feel this. What irks me, too, is in the car line people don't pay attention to the attendant telling them when to stop and/or go. It's that way for a reason morons.

In the towns around me, though, the cops are really good at controlling speeders in school zones. They pay that fine once, they dont' wanna do it again, generally.
